How are people seriously blaming Naniwa? IEM has let him, and the fans down. If its not up to standard, why should he sabotage his play due to their failure?

Hmmm more I hear about this situation I feel like a LOT of the blame lies with ESL. Naniwa plays with a very aggressive style and overpowers with micro so I can see why he feels this is bullshit.
I hope the other players there back him up on his stance.

At least he forfeited instead of probe rushing every game so the correct choice imo.

Naniwa left the tournament.

By the way, I've watched on Strelok's stream that he really really hates lag, it sets him off tremendously. But he remained calm and did his best in this situation. Props to Strelok.

Strelok is a boss, we learned this at IPL 3 Behind the scenes :-D

Sorry, but inviting a "star" like Naniwa means nothing. He is doing your tournament a favor. Imagine if MMA just left because the conditions were bad, would you blame him?

the problem is guys like MMA knows what respect is, for a tournament, fans, viewers etc, you're example is sad.

Oh really?

Yes really, lagg doesn't affect a proxy rush.
Haven't most big tournaments lagged in the start by the way? I think so... Quitting everything after 1 match. I'm sure Quantic is happy they payed flight, hotel and everything. LoL

So you mean that tournaments have no blame in not managing to make a lag free environment. Lets not cut the grass for the football players next so they cant play their game and see what happends, this might be a smaller scale than big football tournaments but its still the same principle.

It's more like quitting the football game because it started raining. You can't control bnet .20.

It's more like quitting a football game because there are lightning strikes going down left and right if the lag is really that bad.

Very understandible, but perhaps he should have talked it over with other players ?
Now he's forfit, and put's Strelok at a disadvantage (2/1 serries others will go 2/0)

Not saying he was not right but he could perhaps have handled it smarter ?

So does Strelok get 2-0 now that White-Ra and TITAN also do?

That's because it's dangerous and greatly increases injury risk?

Not the best comparison :p

Naniwa trying to shove it up ESLs face by forfeiting the tournament.
A ban should be issued as soon as possible.

i was ok with him probe rushing nestea, I thought that losing Code S for that was a stupid decision by GomTv(and i still think it is, a pointless game shouldnt be played)

But this is stupid...
Strelok played under the same conditions and he had to play naniwa knowing that losing the series could destroy his tournament chances.
and now it was all for nothing... imagine he would've lost, imagine naniwa winning with those lags, he wouldnt have forfeited the tournament, he would've continued.
It's just inacceptable...
Now if the ESL keep the 2:1 score instead of making it 2:0 it becomes even worse...

Sorry but I think you're wrong, following NaNiwa already since his arrival in the wc3 scene. I think I can say for pretty sure he would also forfeit if he won. NaNiWa wants proper conditions else he don't play....

And he is right in that way, however in this particular case he is also an invite, who is there to represent the Korean scene and in that light it isn't smart that he forfeited. However beside of that, his decision makes full sense in my opinion.

exactly. on shakuras he forgot to send 50% of his army into battle and in Taldarim his proxy gate was scouted. Still Lag sucks, but it effects both players. If you want ot blame anyone for Lag write an email to Blizzard and demand LAN-Support.

Can't believe people are giving Naniwa shit for this. If anyone is to blame it's IEM or Blizzard. We don't know what is going on so it's probably wise to chill with the drama.

So guessing ppl dont feel like I am, but to accept bad conditions all the time doesnt put any pressure on tournaments. They need to feel like the environment they are going to show NEED to be perfect, who in GSL would accept playing with lag? None. Its just so damn messed up ppl are defending tournaments that is really terrible.

Agreed. I don't recall any recent IEM that didn't have some technical issues, in the form of delays or lag. I really hope they get their shit together, i love Bitterdam and the other guys, but the issues simply make the entire organisation look bad.

If ESL forced players to play with lag: why haven't Strelok, Titan and White-ra complain about it?
