Yes very naive, most professional sports Soccer and Pro ball to name a few, make that sort of compromise at the highest level, why should SC2 be any different

Having the best possible tournament is one thing, in the end it's still a business for the tournament to sell and entice viewership numbers. Having IdrA in the GSL gains viewership and makes it very attractive for sponsors.
