yea but 6 pools actually win games, probe rushes dont.

MOON fucking 6 pooled in the finals of a dreamhack, was he trying to lose???

6poolin on taldarim altar is a completly different thing than 6poolin on xnelaga (as idra did against MC)

okay, doesnt mean it cant work, dimaga did a 6 or 7 pool on xelnaga to beat nestea.

ive seen it work before on xelnaga

what? yeah a 6pool against ZERG might work,. but not against a protoss. idra left as soon as he didnt get in with his lings. It was as much of a thrown game as this one.

Naniwa did it becouse he had no chance of advancing, when he plays in a tournament he plays to win. He had no reason to put effort into that game. I don't really understand why you are mad at him, to me he didn't do anything wrong.

If I'm tuning in to watch the Chicago Cubs (or even worse if I am at Wrigley Field) and it's late September and they've already been eliminated, then I expect to see a competitive match. They may be fielding all their minor league talent but I expect the match to be played to full regardless of it not having any impact whatsoever in the pennant race.

If I see both teams going up and bunting every time just so they can get the game over quicker then I'm going to be pissed. Just like I'm pissed at Naniwa right now. If he didn't want to play a macro game then he could have attempted a 4gate or a cannon rush or anything that wasn't simply 1-Aing his probes into Nestea's main.

You mean kinda like how Coca wanted to play an extra game against his friend in a random tournament, so he threw away game 2, and then got kicked out of GSL and demoted from his team?

He also gifted his friend a Code A spot, that's why there was a shitstorm.

Huh? He never did

How can you blame him?
He is pissed off and have no motivation to play after getting cheesed out of the tournament.

That last match means literally nothing for both of the players and shouldn't even have been played. It's a stupid format.

It is far beyond most people at TL to understand human emotion.

We want PROFESSIONALISM in ESPORTS, fuck how the players feel. -_-

Surprised to see a post like this coming from you. Obviously I disagree here.

While I think the forum has greatly overreacted, I still wouldn't shy away from calling naniwa's behavior disrespectful to Gomtv, fans, and other professionals.

If anything it is disrespectful of Gom to make players play worthless matches. There was no reason at all for that game to played. After that a bunch of forum people start complaining like there is no tomorrow. And you talk about professionalism? In what sport does a player or a team send out their a-team to play a match that doesnt matter???

We see this behaviour in every sport almost so I really dont understand the mass of haters.

Uhum? In every sport teams play matches that "doesn´t mean anything" but the pride in winning. That´s the very foundation of all sports. You seriously think the teams in the football world cup play to win some prizemoney? Even if a crappy team loses all their games they will still fight like crazy to take at least one win with them home, to show their fans that they tried their very best. You obviously don´t watch sports, or at least doesnt understand it.

Since you bring up football we can compare it to champions league. Last stage of group play when teams are already qualified you always see teams change their entire line-up for reserves. I guarantee you they don't do it for the fans....

When the friend log-in notification pops up during the game play
When the player receives a whisper (message) during the game play from another user (failure to set the status to busy)
Sending chat messages other than ‘GG’, ‘gg’, ‘ㅎㅎ’,'ㅈㅈ' to declare the loss during the game.

Should Stephano be punished for chatting yesterday? No. Should he be reprimanded? Yes.
Should Naniwa be punished for doing a bad strategy? No. Should he be reprimanded?. Yes.

So many have shifting standards based on their like or dislike of certain players. Dislike him all you want but be objective.

lol it was a little more than just a bad strategy, saying that people should reprimanded for using bad strategies means that every player wouild be reprimanded at one point or another.

Calling a probe rush a strategy is insulting , i guess its a strategy to lose......

Yes, I am sugarcoating it, I think he didn't care if he won or not, but how do you prove it?
Stephano did something which objectively broke the rules (saying "gl Hero" or something to that effect).

I don't think either of these players should be banned or anything severe because neither Naniwa or Stephano didn't gain anything from their actions.

A slap on the wrist maybe would be in order (maybe a bit harder than a slap for Naniwa so he shapes up)

To those arguing that there was nothing on the line. Have u ever watched football leagues? Meaningless matches are usually played at the end of the seasons and the teams played to win. Even though they might not use their best players but no team purposely throw the game away. Naniwa is very unprofessional and deserves a punishment.

lol at this. teams rest their best players and you still compare it with playing to win? Naniwa is one person, would it be ok if he sent someone els?

As for all the other sports. every year the discussion is on about the teams that has nothing to play for. Ive seen so many games were teams more or less just go out on the field or ice, but nothing more. if they dont have anything to play for they wont perform at all. perhap like 20mins or so but when that first goal fals they stop trying.

Its how it has always been, its part of sport and something people have to live with.

Well <_<

When I was trolling some ladder I 6 drone rushed and killed 8 SCVs without losing a single one because the person was pretty good at the game. But I still wouldn't think of it as a viable strategy.

it can win a 6 pool i think... If you have amazing micro... and scout him 1st if its a 4 player map...

Wait what poll? If you mean the recommended poll, most people just clicked Yes for the hell of it simply because of how retarded it was and I feel everyone else should see it. Doesnt mean it isn't dumb tho.

I would agree.
If I was Coca I would be rather upset if no action was taking against Naniwa, granted the circumstances are not identical.

You know why naniwa has a job playing the game he loves? Because we watch him. He's not our slave, he doesn't need to do what we tell him, but he could atleast show us some respect, and if he doesn't want to play, that's cool, just do a 2 proxy gate or some kind of cheese. Not a worker rush. A lot of people expected to see him play vs nestea. He doesn't give a fuck, that's cool for him. But you can't expect to have that kind of disrespectful atitute and not suffer backlash.

If IdrA is anything to go by, BMing the audience generates more viewers.

This kind of thing is not sustainable, however. The reason professional sports leagues crack down on misbehaviour is because they need to maintain the air respectability, professionalism, and legitimacy. These things are crucial to the long-term survival of a league--in their absence, betting cannot occur, analysts cannot make a living, serious advertisers cannot do their thing, viewers lose interest. This sort of drama, while it may produce short term interest, if left unchecked is extremely bad for any sport.

Oh yea, aren't you special. Disrespecting people for expressing disappointment with Naniwa's unprofessionalism in an otherwise professional produciton.

Is there any Korean in the GSL that would do what Naniwa did? no. Did people pay to watch Naniwa vs Nestea, the most hyped up match in the group stages? Yes. What Naniwa did suggests that he believes he's bigger than the GSL. If that's how he feels he doesn't belong there.

I'll be emailing Gom too. Looks like I'm a reddit hero

... go report the 6 pools too... especially those after they lost a game...
In the future people will report every cheeser as they are disappointed and the player is unprofessional for not playing a "proper" game

Ah, the logical fallacies. That's a false analogy and a slippery slope fallacy. When people 6 pool they have the intent of trying to win. They don't remove their hands from the keyboard and cross their arms (Khaldor said he did this!). 6 pooling has shown success, especially vs toss. There is literally no chance attacking with 7 probes can win. Literally none. Even if Nestea 7 pools he pulls his drones away, makes zerglings and wins.

So what would happen if Naniwa had actually killed all of Nesteas drones? You think he'd send his probes back and try to win? No because he had no intention of winning. Did I say I was mad because he didn't play a "proper" game? No, your argument is horrible because it doesn't exist. You rely on lies and fallacies.

Cheesing and throwing a game aren't even in the same hemisphere.
Everyone is either delusional, a nihlilst, or dead from suicide.

haha, good comparison.

Though I want to point out that Polt has some really impressive micro when he was attacking that most people who don't watch carefully just won't appreciate.

Against OGSFin, for example. Polt got CLOWNED in that game.

We'll have to see about that next season. All we know for sure is that he's good.
