Contrary to popular belief Stephano is not from the States, any mindless spam asserting otherwise after this time (19:48 KST/ 5:48 AM EST/ 10:48 GMT) will meet a moderator response. We have enough confusing spam posting in LR threads these days. Lets try to keep the love for everyone's favourite French zerg reasonable.

And as always:
- No player bashing.
- No caster bashing.
- No balance whining.

Enjoy the games.

What shocking results!

Not really.

Who in their right mind thought Steph stood a chance, anyway?

Hero going 0-4 was well below my prediction, but it does confirm my belief to not trust the hype.

What do you mean "stand a chance" he barely didn't manage to qualify. He most certainly stood a chance.

To someone who did not stood a chance being tied with MC must be a pretty good result.

Foridorker: MC sucks he has been figured out all he does is All in. He "sucks" at Macro games.
Response: No - he has had Macro games in the past against great players including against Bomber and MVP and has won. MC is actually one of the best Macro Ps.

thats why MCs inconsistant he may pull out a few macro games here and there but its nothing he can actually be consistant with

Foridorker: herp derp I hate MC he only all ins herp derp
Response: Actually MVP all-ins just as much as MC, and people all in AGAINST MC alot too. How is he different than any other player? You need to change things up and do timing attacks with macro play in order to win tournaments. That map in particular is a good choice to all-in beacause it is extremely hard as a P to get a 3rd up against a Terran (especially MVP who drops and does alot of multi-prong harass)

MVP doesnt all-in near as mcuh as MC, MVP mixes in all-ins to catch people off guard
MC mixes in macro games to catch people off guard

Foridorker: Herp derp at least MVP wins when he all ins and MC hasnt won anything in months. He has been figured out.
Response: MC came in 2nd @ MLG Orlando and has beaten Bomber recently, and has maintained code S status again this month. He also advanced in his group... Yes he has been inconsistent, but he is still a great player.

wow getting 2nd at a foeigner event whats a crown jewel for him

how many MLGs has he been to? and isnt that his first time getting to teh finals?

Foridorer: herp derp that all in was terrible had no chance of working!
Response: Actually it had a good chance of working had it not been scouted.

MVP didnt even to try ahrd to hold that off pretty sure knowing about it 5 seconds later wouldnt ahve made much difference

I can't believe you take so much time just to troll and derp people in this thread... so much effort wasted!

stephano did nothing to make him more qualified than DRG and MVP. maybe MC, but MC already beat him in the group heads up.

stephano beat HerO whom lost to everyone else as well
stephano defended really well against DRG 1base bane/lings
stephano roach/ling timing against MC was held off with very impressive Forcefields
stephano then proceeded to be crushed by MVP, who too crushed MC beforehand

so seeing the complaints, im just gonna say the format sucks, and they should just make it TOP 2 qualifies. It will reduce the fan's rants.

kinda expected heros results, after all we've just seen him in foreign competition.
Stephano represented himself well imo, 2-2 in that group is really nothing to be ashamed of. He should have won the game vs mc though, he should have stuck with the macro game on dual sight.

I'll be frank here: I expected I saw every person to be very close except HerO, who I thought wasn't up there (yet) but would still be able to take a game off someone if he played more standard. I think the hype surrounding HerO in the last month has a lot to do with the fact that this is Team Liquid(and not Team SCV Life forums). This isn't to say he hasn't improved(he has) or made a good decision in terms of monetary reward because if I were him(I'd choose rather face the field at Dreamhack and NASL chances to win 30k over Blizzard Cup's field for 30k anyday). Every other person in this tournament has shown they either have won GSL(MVP,MMA,MC,Nestea,Polt) or can beat GSL champions on more than one occasion(Naniwa,Leenock,DRG, Stephano). Forget Champions, how many Code S players did HerO win against in last month? Well I guess 1 if you include his 1-2 series against DRG. When you add in all the traveling, nerves, (inexperience+bad luck=nexus first 2 games), and just a plain bad day you get 0-4. Up and Downs should be interesting because no one else besides boxer and hero are really improving and many are on the decline. I think HerO is about to follow in Oz's footsteps come GSL 2012.

Wtf going 2-2 in a group with the worlds best players is realy great. Matter infact Stephano just proved himself why he is one of the best players in the world. Note I sayd one fo the best not the best.

Stephano deserved to go true. DRG should feel very lucky that Hero had nothign to play for vs him and MC had a shitty PvZ map

Damn wherever I see a name stephano I see you post right after you must really love him xD.

Make whatever excuses you want but I highly doubt Hero didn't try, and I know MC tried his hardest to beat DRG you could just tell by his play and everything lol.

Love is a big word Blade". but yea "defender of Stephano". I try to be as objective as possible and sometimes ofcourse my emotions come true when dealing with trolls.

You know how it is blade:D

Btw ofcourse I think hero tryed but he had 0 confidence the match vs DRG I thought someone had stolen Hero´s account.

Yeah well literally everything that could have gone wrong for him went wrong. I felt bad because I have had those games and they are so frustrating when that happens xD.

I don't know about you or Hero, but personally, I'd feel more determined to win if I went 0-3. Losing 0-4 is quite embarrassing and Hero's post-game message seemed to indicate that's how he felt after his poor performance. Anyway, let's stop making justifications outside the game for a player's loss or win. Player conditions do matter, but that's also what being a champion is about: the ability to overcome challenges in the game and outside of.

Good point and well sayd. I just think there is a very thin line from success to failure and its not allways black and white.

And besides, he's playing against the best players, so if anything it would show he isn't the best. Which is not necessarily anywhere close to being bad =O
