It's been a while since we did one of these and it turns out there are plenty of sponsors excited about providing a prizepool for players of this calibre.
This showmatch will take place as part of the Showcraft stream on Friday, a variety show of laddering, coaching, customs and commentary over on http://www.twitch.tv/totalbiscuit

$300 for BO7 doesn't seem reasonable. Maybe if it was more money. $300 for BO5 seems fine. If I can convinced em to give say $500 for a BO7 next time, then sure.

Why not? It's not like they have to travel somewhere or do anything special other than show up. White-Ra, like many pros, plays like 20+ games per day. He doesn't get any money for that, other than stream income. Why would he not want to play a Bo7 for $300 while streaming? It would only earn him more money than usual (even if he loses, probably more people will tune in to his stream to watch his FP play), he gets good practice and exposure. Not that White-Ra really needs exposure, but it will make his sponsors happy.
~ btw I'm not saying the current format of Bo5 is bad, just saying $300 for a Bo7 seems fine. Thanks for arranging this one!

I don't think anyone is complaining, after all we get sc2 to watch, its just that he means you could probably sponsor 2 games for that kind of money and if theres anything better than 1 bo7 its 2 .

No one is shouting. I'm just saying you could get more for the money (which is obviously something I, as a selfish fan, want). It's probably something your sponsors wouldn't mind either. And I'm fairly certain the players wouldn't either (although I'm sure they won't complain with a higher prize). Anyways, gl. Hoping for some typical white-ra craziness as I'll be watching.

and i actually agree with you tho Bo5 for 300 seems about right if it was 500 then sure a Bo7 would be ok but for 300 why make it into a 3 hour long event

I'd rather not squeeze the players for everything I can. The sponsors agreed to BO5, imho the players should be getting more for their time, not less and whether nor the spectators get more for their "money" is a secondary concern. I want to see showmatches with higher prizepools in future.

Ret did a very similar mistake in the IPL Team Attack (Liquid vs QIM) against Sase.
