It's been a while since we did one of these and it turns out there are plenty of sponsors excited about providing a prizepool for players of this calibre.
This showmatch will take place as part of the Showcraft stream on Friday, a variety show of laddering, coaching, customs and commentary over on http://www.twitch.tv/totalbiscuit
There's also a chance for a member of the audience to win a 6790 graphics card courtesy of Club3d, all you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is to Like and make a comment on their Facebook page, it's that simple - https://www.facebook.com/club3d?sk=wall

Awesome!
I just think a bo5 may be a bit short and a bo7 would be better, but really looking forward to this

Awesome as always Mr. Biscuit <3 Is there any chance that next showmatch will be a bo7? Bo5 seems bit short
|
let's go banjo =D Actually, I won't be cheering for either player more, met them both at DH and they are both exceptional gentlemen =D

$300 for BO7 doesn't seem reasonable. Maybe if it was more money. $300 for BO5 seems fine. If I can convinced em to give say $500 for a BO7 next time, then sure.

If I can convinced em to give say $500 for a BO7 next time, then sure. Why not? It's not like they have to travel somewhere or do anything special other than show up. White-Ra, like many pros, plays like 20+ games per day. He doesn't get any money for that, other than stream income. Why would he not want to play a Bo7 for $300 while streaming? It would only earn him more money than usual (even if he loses, probably more people will tune in to his stream to watch his FP play), he gets good practice and exposure. Not that White-Ra really needs exposure, but it will make his sponsors happy.
~ btw I'm not saying the current format of Bo5 is bad, just saying $300 for a Bo7 seems fine. Thanks for arranging this one!

Because I say so. My opinion, basically.

I seriously doubt any player would say no to a BO7 showmatch for $300. Showmatches are typically BO7s as it is and for much less money than $300.
Meh, however you want to spend your sponsors money is fine by me. Just doesn't make sense.

Can't wait to see this

Are you solo casting or bringing us an Apollo, too? ^^
Either way, should be good to watch.

Release the BANJOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Alright, guess I get shouted at for giving players too much money now.
Do I really need to explain in detail every decision I ever make?

I don't think anyone is complaining, after all we get sc2 to watch, its just that he means you could probably sponsor 2 games for that kind of money and if theres anything better than 1 bo7 its 2 .

Haypro got this pretty easy.

I'm just saying you could get more for the money (which is obviously something I, as a selfish fan, want). It's probably something your sponsors wouldn't mind either. And I'm fairly certain the players wouldn't either (although I'm sure they won't complain with a higher prize). Anyways, gl. Hoping for some typical white-ra craziness as I'll be watching.

yes, yes you do
jk
and i actually agree with you tho Bo5 for 300 seems about right if it was 500 then sure a Bo7 would be ok but for 300 why make it into a 3 hour long event
also looking forward to your next hosted tournament

I'd rather not squeeze the players for everything I can. The sponsors agreed to BO5, imho the players should be getting more for their time, not less and whether nor the spectators get more for their "money" is a secondary concern. I want to see showmatches with higher prizepools in future.

You should get yourself one of these great german beards directly under the nose, would suit you well.
Great players, should be good games and nice to see that they are given a chance to make some additional money on the side, sucks that I'll have to watch it muted though.

whitera will take it 3:0 FOR SURE!!!! Goooo BOSStosss!!!
|
On one side: My favorite Protoss, on the other The Swedish Banjo
I don't know who to cheer for

I don't spend much time on the forums, but if that is the kind of crap TB has to take regularly i'm starting to understand why there are sometimes frustrated tweets by him...
ontopic: Showmatch casted by Totalbiscuit=great. If White-Ra is one of the players it's even better than great (Haypro is good, too).

Pretty much. Getting compared to Hitler and being told I'm an awful caster on a daily basis is the most fun a man could have.

It's great to see the saturation of events nowadays. Great to keep the players on form between big tourneys.

I wish I could "mute" inane ramblings of simpletons like you. Btw those "beards directly under the nose" are called MOUSTACHES!

how does haypro not be suspicious of dt / void ray play... with white ra being in one bas for so long.
|
White-Ra looks hilarious in that picture. My bet is that the Banjo will play White-Ra. :D
|
Wow, Whitera totally playing the banjo like a maestro right now.
|
gogo banjooooo you can do it !

Yeah it was kind of crazy, 6min+ and whitera defending ling pokes by walling himself in with only 2 stalkers... pretty obvious either DT/Stargate was coming, needed an evo chamber down a bit earlier, and throw down a spore at each base, get an extra queen out, ez hold.
Not to engage in random pro bashing but I really don't understand what he was thinking.

really cool to see WhiteRa is always an inspiration and Haypro has been playing out of his mind.. nice event and I hope for some gg's!
ty to tb for putting this on!

White-Ra's army is getting soooo sick. Only thing he should be aware of is Neural Parasite on his Mothership.
|
Wow White ra playing so well
|
White-Ra 3-0
ends the last game with Mothership + Carriers, both of which are being removed in HotS
|
Wow, Whitera beat Haypro...with carriers, nice.
That banjo just got played!
|
If Haypro had got lucky with a neural-vortex he could maybe won the last engagement - but no energy Nice series!

Ret did a very similar mistake in the IPL Team Attack (Liquid vs QIM) against Sase.
