Please stop the tournament comparison discussion. Especially regarding players their runs (Stephano seems to be the current topic). Stay on topic and stick to the games. Consequences will be met out to further derailment.
In addition leave the usual out of this topic:
-Balance complaints -Map complaints -Stream complaints -Caster/player bashing -Off topic discussions
Logically continue this list with things that are obviously frowned upon. Enjoy the free and wonderful event with loads of games and coverage! |

weak? WEAK?? first lets see if it gets below 55% winrate, then we start discussing it

Yea, I have to agree. That game was over as Hero was on 3 base and Sen had lost his third (after having lost and rebuilt his main).
Sorry if I said that negatively; I know the game was over, but the thing is most players don't GG out that early like that - they pull desperation moves and hope for a favorable engagement, but Sen, like Idra, didn't do that. I agree that the outcome would not have changed, but IMO its nice to see a player attempt to come back from a situation like that, even if its destined to fail. (MVP, for example, makes people work very very hard to get a gg from him, even if it looks like he'll lose)

I'm putting bets right now on DRG or PuMa to take the tourney. HerO less so only because there are a lot of good zergs left over.
Except Select.
Also, Nerchio got this no problem.

Yeah!! \o/ If he loses Daboo is tied as well and wins due to mapscore or h2h. Select is out whatever happens I think. If Daboo wins 2-0 he has better mapscore than select and sase If Daboo wins 2-1 he's tied in mapscore with sase and wins on h2h I think wanst daboo 0-2? so it would make it 1-2, still out o_o btw he lost so hes 0-3 Yes, this is accurate. Doesn't matter though since SaSe did in fact win
But if SaSe lost to Daboo he would also have been 1-2 and been eliminated But yes <3 SaSe is through

The last one to win anything was ThorZaiN himself in TSL3.

SeleCT has been infected with Murika, he lost his korean master race StarCraft powers.

Let's face it, there's a thread specifically designed for this balance whining, and it seems you can't read the top of the thread:
"In addition leave the usual out of this topic:
-Balance complaints"
^See that?

Writing off all the known Koreans was an obvious mistake. The known Koreans have been playing very strong and haven't lost any series to non-Koreans.
Stephano, Thorzain, SeleCT, Sen, elfi and Idra are all out despite being thought to be potential winners.

Foreign terran players win tournaments everyday, it depends on what kind of restrictions you make for the answer.

He also won the NASL Semi-open, don´t know if it counts as big tournament. Also Sjow won IESF.

This is a nice idea for GSL or laddering, but when competing in these marathon tournaments sometimes your brain really needs you to just say fuck it.

Is it just group matches today, or will they play the first round of the brackets later in the day?

No? I don't see any weakness - just that the game became more balanced since the Ghost nerf. EMP shoul've never been that strong in the first place. As for foreign terrans not winning anything, well they aren't as good as their korean peers and their pretty far from that korean skill ceiling than their toss/zerg counterparts.
As for ladder, I ain't terran so maybe their too weak there so Idk...

There's still time for redemption for foreigners, but in general I've not been impressed by their play this tournament. No foreigner looked all that solid, which is odd given that the competition at MLG was better and this is home turf for Europeans/Swedes, yet in MLG the few top foreigners who were there all looked pretty solid.
Still pulling for White-Ra though.
