If by work you mean do damage, there are a huge amount of games where stargate play gains the Protoss a decisive advantage. Plus, even if your initial air units don't manage to do a lot of damage, they still gain you a lot of control and force Zerg into hydras that he usually doesn't want to make. | ||

No it's not all in, it actually gives you quite a bit of utility. You get map control by forcing ovies back home and killing lings at watchtowers, force a defense in either lots of spores (killing drones and making your opponent spend money) or hydras, which can be exploited with colossi. Later in the game you have a stargate that will let you get faster motherships and build voidrays once your opponent gets broodlords or ultras. It just can't usually outright kill your opponent. | ||
