I think it might be unexplored because against with standard pvt single robo colossus, there is a good window where standard Terran only has 2 medivacs and Protoss has 2 Colossus. Usually Terrans start the double dropping then to try and prevent an all out engagement in this time. If you could get 2 Colossus before he gets any Starport units, I think you would be in great shape.
Yes, but to hit that timing with 2 robo colossus you'd have barely any gateway units. It would be extremely risky and very easily countered if scouted.

That's hte current meta game, its mostly because the aggression that the protoss does are usually very all-in-ish aggression. there hasn't been quite a development for "harassment" type aggression, or just map positioning development.
but the a turtling allows for bigger macro, hopefully this will change the metagame in which the protoss that has map control picks up a 3rd base, and so on.
this is my thoughts on the future of the pvp meta-game.

It's not unexplored,Ace won IEM by going quick 3 colo attack off a fast expand. What terrans figured out than is that the protoss has so few gateway units that you can just stim past the army and anihilate the colossus,but even low reactive viking count deals with it fairly well.Imagine what would happen if you would go 2 robo colo of 2 base. You would get killed by a single medivac marauder drop lol.

zealot archon can be very strong vs collo deathball you just have to be more agressive
