Why did they play out the series then? Stop it midway through... stop it at the beginning .... Anything is better than ripping out someone's heart.

no, the mistake was to get the seeding wrong in the first place.
The right thing to do is to obviously regame with correct opponents or people are getting the wrong opponents, and thus just how well they did in their group wasn't worth anything afterall.

Of course they're not gonna count the TT1-Gatored games.. It would screw up the 'actual' brackets..TOP might complain for having to play DRG while it's not what it should be.
They made the right decision.. oh, and don't blame Carmac, he's doing amazing things for e-sports

You just don't do that. It's just very unprofessional. Think about if the NHL, NFL, whatever would handle a situation like this. Outrage.

Every player except gatored now gets a special spell card:
Last Chance - spell
use this spell card if you lose your quarterfinals. Furthermore randomly mix up the bracket.
Everybody gets a second chance

They should apologize to DRG for messing up and having him play the wrong opponent, not cancel the result of a game already played Why ? Is it more unfair then DRG having to play harder opponent when he ended up 1st in the group ? Sticking to system is better as one way or another you are being unfair to someone, so at least it is according to rules. Doesnt matter. The game was already played... IEM should apologize to DRG for fucking up, not cancel a legitimate game The thing is just that the game was not legitimate, it should have never happened.
I can understand your frustration, but I think they handled this the best way possible.
Really stupid mistake that should never happen, it's sad that some player will suffer from it either way they handle it.

God damn, we need a poll.
Poll: Should IEM continue with the results of the TT1 vs Gatored match? No. TT1 regames vs DRG, Gatored regames vs his opponent. (189) 84% Yes. TT1 advances, Gatored is out. (36) 16% 225 total votes Your vote: Should IEM continue with the results of the TT1 vs Gatored match? (Vote): Yes. TT1 advances, Gatored is out. (Vote): No. TT1 regames vs DRG, Gatored regames vs his opponent.

I had to read this a couple times to make sure it was really Xeris going off.
Not even suprising at this point.

IEM should apologize to DRG for fucking up, not cancel a legitimate game I think it's good this way. It'd be kinda deligitimising the tourney if TT1 advanced due to a match that shouldn't have happened. That said, I understand it sucks hard for him, but maybe you should hold back in some of your comments, as they are quite harsh.

TT1 actually palyed games and won, that's why its more unfair to him? O_O

So having the two best players in the tournament incorrectly play eachother in the RO8 is the right thing to do? This happens all the time in tournaments. Unless you're directly ranking players and seeding them into brackets it is bound to happen. Hell it just happened in the GSL (nestea vs. mvp in RO8).

How is Xeris running a "shitty tournament" even slightly relevant? Lmao.
|
Also, as much as it sucks for TT1 I would be upset if I was DRG and they let the result stand. I would rather play the foreigner than Korean Terran first round.

Why because he is mad that the officials screwed over one of his players?
