The games played were probably never considered official games.

They should apologize to DRG for messing up and having him play the wrong opponent, not cancel the result of a game already played Why ? Is it more unfair then DRG having to play harder opponent when he ended up 1st in the group ? Sticking to system is better as one way or another you are being unfair to someone, so at least it is according to rules. Doesnt matter. The game was already played... IEM should apologize to DRG for fucking up, not cancel a legitimate game Not only to DRG then, but to all koreans ^^

Agreed, or at least close to it.

this is funny on so many levels

Well are they still going to play any games? Preferably ones that count? Maybe the other QF

The LoL thread on TL has more pages than the sc2 thread ...

Couldnt they just in someway remake the brackets or whatever when they discovered the mistake ?????

Except it wasn't a legitimate game as it turns out (#2 seed vs #2 seed).

Yea because you've never made a mistake. NASL calling other tournament runners trash, lol.

Makes no sense whatsoever. If they're going to fuck TT1 up for that reason shouldn't they redo the drawings from the scratch? I mean, in the end it was the drawings that the individual matches were decided by.

Well played carmac. I agree. They're going back on their mistake rather than making more. You guys can't be serious. The real mistake was to cancel the TT1 match.

#1 Group B vs #2 Group C was just played and TT1 3-0'd gatored.
But the rankings were screwed up for group B. DRG 2-1 (5-3) gatored 2-1 (4-4) (gatored 2-0 vs DRG)
the ref gave gatored first seed because he won heads up vs DRG. BUT it goes map score first, then heads up in tie breakers.
So DRG is actually first in the group and should have played TT1. So the TT1 v. gatored match is null and void and TT1 has to play DRG for the quarterfinals :S

Holy crap. I go to shave and take a dump and all hell breaks loose?
So apparently DRG was actually supposed to be #1 in his group and they had to switch him and gatored in the brackets?
And they decided to make this change after TT1 already beat Gatored?
Is that an accurate recap? If so, this has to be the worst decision in the history of tournament administration. As someone that has personally overseen over 100 tournaments, I can tell you this is exactly how you don't handle this sort of situation lol

Seriously it was a mistake by the organizers, the players should not have to suffer from their mistake.
exactly thats why they have to play the correct games

Honestly, they played the game out already. Seeding error, sure, that sucks. But man up and accept YOUR error. Don't fuck the players over for it.
Yargh. Stupid IEM, now I HAVE to cheer for TT1, and I don't want to do that!!!
It's not "just a seeding error", DRG won the right the play the second place from the other group, which was TT1.
Likewise with Top, he should not have to play DRG because he won his group.
The fair thing is admit the mistake and play the correct games, otherwise the whole tournament result is a unfair as the players who won their games got shafted.
