From what I can gather (also just tuned in) TT1 played Gatored and 3-0'd him. Then, it was revealed that there was a bracket error, and TT1 was supposed to play DRG instead, so they canceled that result and decided to make TT1 play DRG anyway, as opposed to just saying "whoops, we goofed, I guess DRG will just play Gatored's opponent (TOP) and we'll be done with it.

IMO poor way to handle it, there's no way TT1 won't be tilting during his series with DRG, so quick 3-0 probably incoming

I still call Korean vs Korean finals, somehow it'll happen.

CALLED IT bitches. xD

rofl, that sir is a victory.

lol @ people saying they can't overturn it because someone fucked up with the tiebreakers.

It's just as fucked up to have someone mess up and make TOP and DRG play by accident as it is to have TT1 and Gatored have to regame because they weren;t supposed to play each other in the first place.

TT1 should at least be given the price money for making top 4 imo.

This is exactly right. If he loses vs DRG he should get the same amount of prize money as if he had won the match. That is the only fair thing to do.

They should apologize to DRG for messing up and having him play the wrong opponent, not cancel the result of a game already played

If the game is in the wrong part of the bracket though, nothing can be done. It sucks. Certain seeds have to play certain other seeds, even one wrong match completely F's up the brackets.

Edit: I agree with the guy that said TT1 should get top 4 prize money though, it would make up for their error in my opinion.

Well played carmac.

I agree. They're going back on their mistake rather than making more.

I cannot imagine TT1 having a chance against DRG now, he'll be tilted enough to remove the small chance of beating DRG..
This fucks up the whole tournament.... SOTG is gonna be fun though.

Why ? Is it more unfair then DRG having to play harder opponent when he ended up 1st in the group ? Sticking to system is better as one way or another you are being unfair to someone, so at least it is according to rules.

QFT.

They made the misstake, and im sure they are aware of how big of a misstake it is. Im pretty sure they wont ever ever make the same misstake again. Also i get to watch DRG play again so im not that dissapointed tbh! :D

The rules of the tournament has to trump absolutely everything else even though TT1 won or it's unfair for everyone else.

Doesnt matter. The game was already played... IEM should apologize to DRG for fucking up, not cancel a legitimate game

_really_? and you say that as a NASL representative?? I mean I hope that every league would do as IEM just did.

you just proofed my opinion of the NASL once again.

IEM is doing the best they can after this very bad mistake and they handled it as best as possible.

Is the NASL guy seriuosly criticizing such a well organized tournament as ESL? Mistakes happen, at least things like that happened to them only once. With NASL it was fail all the way.

Seriously, LOL @ Xeris badmouthing another tournament in an LR thread like a random internet-drone.
Not saying that it was a good thing BUT it is announced AND fixed. Why are everyone so pissed about someone getting to the semifinals even though it was a mistake? The player who won ( in this case TT1) got there by wrongful means, and that is just wrong, better make it right and move on imo.
