We need the dads and moms of this world to look at a couple of professional guys playing a video-game that they can recognize for their skills. We want the hardcore sports fans to think of E-Sports as a life-valuable skill like playing piano, chess, cards or whatever. The expression "NesTea sucks the life out of aliens in asteroids in order to save the Earth" is not something I would like to ear if I was tuning to a cast for the first time, let alone earing the casters talk about ice cream, toothpaste and family pranks. You can't make everyone happy, some nerds like to be 100% business when they're watching the games, and some nerds like to have some lighthearted commentary during the slow parts of SC games. Tastetosis delivers both. That's why they're the best. Artosis paired with anyone else just isn't as fun to listen to. Funny is money, stop trying to make it so serious that no one wants to watch it anymore.BTW. On this topic of funny. Can someone at Gom please get QXC back casting with Wolf. Those two were hilarious together.
Way to misunderstood things. Obviously people are saying they are spending too much time with their, sometimes lame, jokes. The key word is too much. Nobody in the right mind doesn't like a funny caster with knowledge. Everybody knows Artosis has the knowlege. They are only asking for a better balance between analysis and humor. Who even asked for a 100% serious caster? You are arguing against points that were not even made by reasonable posters.

Lets be honest, Artosis is trolling hard. Even I have to admit it's pretty hilarious to see him talk about Nestea sometimes knowing that the forums will go crazy.

There's a big gap between funny and entertaining. Because entertainment doesn't need to be funny in order to be enjoyable. Take any professional sports. You pick.
Nobody is talking about being funny or serious. It's about professionalism. As you mentioned, they provide very knowledgeble commentary. The problem is the "...when they decide to share it." part. This should be their focus during 97-99% of the cast, not 40%. Nobody in the right mindset will get pissed of with an occasional joke.

Yeh, i'm sure the majority of people find it funny, but I find it very unprofessional and annoying, when in at least two of the games Mvp won, he was just rambling on and on about NesTea, and with about 20 seconds left in the game, he's like "Oh, suddenly looks like Mvp might actually win this" Then quickly back to rambling on about NesTea.
Personally I'm looking forward to Wolf tonight

I am very disappointed at the Supernova result. He has more potential than Ganzi. MVP should swallow him up, but the might of Slayers terran preparation might produce an upset.

By TLPD stats, TvZ win rates on the maps are: 28.6% (in 7 games); 38.7%; 60.9%; 53.4%; 56.4%
By my count, that map pool amounts to two Zerg-favored maps (one of which has only 7 games, so the stats might not be accurate), and three maps which are Terran-favored.
At best, this map pool is very slightly Zerg-favored. The averaged win rates for Terran across these five maps is 48%, which is hardly a terribly imba map pool...

Again, everyone's idea of what that perfect balance is is different.
I personally have no problem with the balance that Tastetosis is using currently. Am I wrong? No i'm not, because it's an opinion.
I don't need a play by play analysis for a 2 rax pressure build. I've seen them about 200 times in the GSL I don't need Artosis to tell me exactly what's going on. If I had to listen to Artosis explain to me what that opening was supposed to do, how it worked and how to properly counter it every game I'd probably mute the stream.
They have to cater to guys with my sort of taste as well as guys like you who want more professionalism. They can't make everyone happy. I'm happy though and so are many others.

Shows how much you know about Ganzi.
Ganzi has actually taken games off of MVP in the past, and he was actually the guy that knocked MVP out of the Super Tournament.
Supernova as far as I know, has never accomplished anything of note against MVP. Ganzi has. It's a good thing he won, because now we have some back story going into the RO4 on this end of the bracket.

The maps actually weren't even zerg favored lol.
Belshir which is 14-17 favoring zerg so slightly zerg favored (even though NO map is going to be 50/50)
Metalopolis is 30-24 favoring Terran.
Day break 12-18 favoring zerg
Taldarim 42-26 favoring terran
Dual sight 30-27 favoring terran.
so overall the maps were pretty balanced 3 were favoring terran 2 were favoring zerg (I wouldn't even say any really favored either because the stats are very close except for taldarim most are within 5-6 wins from each other).
Just find it funny how people say nestea shouldn't lose on "zerg" favored maps when they are all pretty even .
Good series wish Nestea had won though but MVP just has his number and is to gosu.
Those are some heavily favored stats for zerg.

The real question is is the GSL over? With NesTea gone is it worth watching any more matches?

As hard as this might be to believe, you don't have to only care about your own most played race to enjoy the GSL.
There are plenty of people that enjoy a good SC2 game regardless of what races are playing. If you're one of those guys that only cares about your own race, don't try and convince others to think like you. Just don't watch and let us enjoy it, we don't need your negativity.

Really... It is the most annoying thing in the world.
I've purchased every single ticket at GomTV and as GSL seasons it's getting harder and harder to tolerate Tastosis casting. It's not a game knowledge, not the game insights, not even the enthusiasm they bring to the table. It's simply because HALF of the time they are on live TV they're talking about puppies, pranks, movies, jokes, family stories, bla bla bla bla... This is simply pathetic. What would you feel if Marv Albert (the legendary NBA play-by-play commentator) did the same? Or Vin Scully from the Dodgers? Or pretty much any other cast from any serious sport? I really appreciate whenever they actually talk about the game, which at this point must be like 40% of the time they are not talking about a lollipop they tasted in high school.
Another major issue is the fact that it is impossible to actually listen to a cast whenever NesTea is playing. On the last game of the series with MVP, they pure and simply were sad when they figured out NesTea was gonna lose. I'm OK with being a fan of a player over another, but casters have the rule of impartiality. That not only unprofessional, it's disrespectful towards other players. I mentioned the same issue with IPL3 when PainUser went and said "This is what TheSTC needs to get back into this game" while he was 40 supply ahead over Stephano.
And last but not least, Starcraft 2 is over a year old, and there are certain things casters need to be pretty carefull before spitting them off. For example, for the last 3 GSL casts, Ro16 Code S, Code A finals and Ro8 Code S, in every single one of them you heard them say (Either Tastosis, Wolf and Moletrap) "This was the most ********** I've ever seen!". You've seen probably thousands of games by now, and I get it's pretty tempting to say something that will get the viewers attention, but most of the time you're simply not true. That Wolf's example when he said "This is the most one sided GSL finals I've ever seen!". This just called for a facepalm.
Don't get me wrong. I love e-Sports and I feel that correcting some of this issues as soon as possible is the only way "we" could be recognized all over the world and given more chances in national TV broadcasts and stuff. EXACTLY. And the worst thing is that they speak with the arrogance of a bad university professor who has tenure. They think they're untouchable, so they just do whatever they want. They turn casts into live blogs of their personal lives. It's disgusting. I thought it was clever the first time Artosis talked about off topic stuff to fill some downtime but when he started doing it every other game I realised he was making a habit of it because he just doesn't seem to care anymore. And Tasteless with his casual dismissal of Korean pros is completely rude. The worst part is when people mindlessly agree with him. I must confess that I did this as well. I jumped on the anti-TheBest bandwagon, too, but guess what? TheBest is actually pretty good. He just made some mistakes that Tastosis ended up blowing out of proportion. Starting to really hate Tastosis. Whoever's in charge of GOMTV seriously needs to sit down with the two and threaten them to get their act together or fire them. My blind fanboy favouritism for Tastosis is over. You're both still, and forever will be, in the minority. Who cares? The majority of the world probably still believes the world was created in 6 days, does that substantiate that at all? Compare them to ANY professional broadcaster in any televised sport and you will find a huge discrepancy in professionalism. It's alright every once in a while to get off topic but when they go on 5 minute tangents about inside jokes, its neither entertaining or useful. Um, no it doesn't substantiate it, but how does that validate your point? The fact remains that a lot more Bibles are sold every year than anything Christopher Hitchens will ever write. Gom doesn't care if people like you find tastosis unprofessional. What they want is for as many people as possible to watch their tournament. And if they were to fire Tastosis a lot of people wouldn't buy tickets. What? I am pretty sure they would still buy tickets for the games themselves. If Tastosis is to cast code B I don't think people will buy tickets for that either. However, that is not to say they need to be fired. They only need to adjust. Stop spending 5 min talking about how Nestea can warp in ultra or MVP can warp in tanks. I would like to see more background on players as well.
With 20 out of 32 players being terran, I was considering not getting a ticket, but the fact that Tastosis would be casting pushed me over the edge.
The MAIN reason I got it was for the games(mostly for the TvZ's), but if not for Tastosis I don't think I would have enjoyed this season that much.

Side note: If Coca loses to Happy, there will be more TvT matches in this Code S bracket than all other matches combined. (Eight TvTs, seven non-TvTs.) That is a lot of TvT.

Did Nestea put himself on the same side of the bracket with MVP? Does that ensure that they will meet sometime before the finals, should they win their respective matches? If that is the case, he's really gotta stop. 2nd place money is much better than ro8 money, Nestea you dope.
We also would have a good GSL finals too.
