If you don't know how to post in a live report thread by now, be advised: don't whine about game balance and don't bash players/casters/interviewers/staff/other posters. We are monitoring this thread closely.
Stop with the USA USA chant shit. Further offenses beyond page 493 will be met with bans. You've been warned.
IGN spent their money wisely. On the other hand NASL had a shit ton of money as well, but decided to cut corners by hiring inexperience/unqualified people who put together a disaster. The contrast was quite jarring. I'm not shitting on NASL, just pointing out that IPL3 has raised the SC2 esports bar. Just as MLG Columbus did.
Watching the interview with Ting I couldn't help but be impressed by his confidence and optimism, regardless of how unrealistic some of his goals are. They have the money and sponsors to dominate the market.
I also couldn't help but notice his smirks when talking about MLG's business model of venture capitol, a short term/dangerous strategy. MLG has announced great plans for 2012, and I'll be watching but I gotta say...IPL blew them out the water in many ways; can't wait to hear the spin on the next SOTG. And the thing is, due to their financing situation they simply can't compete with IPL in terms of production values, prize pool, or stream quality. IPL is essentially offering a free product that is superior to a product you either have to pay for or get in average condition (ie the MLG free stream). MLG Orlando has a lot to live up to.
It'll be very interesting to see how things play out next year. Personally I'm glad we have two great tournaments competing with each other; as a fan of SC2, I feel like I win regardless of whether IPL or MLG has more viewers/success. I'm also very interested to see how IPL works together with GSL. Ting mentioned he and Mr. Chae had some constructive talks, I can't wait to hear more.
he said he doesnt train that much because when he plays long time he loses and he said that he will quit in 1 year because of school i guess. thats a solid plan imo

Step 1) Send Stephano to win MLG Step 2) Send him to win Code A Step 3) 4 Time GSL Champion Stephano!
Stephano trains a shitload, don't think sending him to every tournament will benefit him, because he will lose a lot of training time......Think players should more pick there tournaments. Because traveling cost tons of time which will affect you!
He btw. did qualify for the Blizzard Cup with this Which means he will compete agains the other CHAMPIONS!
He does 3 hours ladder practise a day, that's it, imagine if he trained harder.
I think like he said it will be worse for him to repeat some moves again and again too much "at a critic point". I mean everybody has already felt than when we execute a same action too many times and trying to perfect it more, the result is not as you would excpet. be focus 10 hours a day is i think really impossible, at a time you feels that your level is decreasing and to push your practice further more could in fact damage your skill more than you thought. and thats why stephano has an incredible sense of practicing than others progamers i think for the moment.
wow just woke up and saw the results, insaneeeeeeeeeee run
Qualifier 2 > Anypro/Axslav/MarineKing, lost to aLive Qualifier 3 > Socke/Revival/Puzzle/KiWiKaKi/MMA Main tournament > Huk/Boxer/KiWiKaKi/Violet/Inori/TheStC/Lucky, lost to aLive 24-9 vs Korea..not bad..not bad at all :D

Thx for this post, we all have to remember that this is the firt live event for ipl and the production value was off the hook like better than anything that has ever been there. the inet issues for day 9 were not their fault and all the filler and extra content produced was really nice. Cannot wait for more ipls.
IGN is also my first channel to checkout gaming videos on youtube because they just cover everything.
Everything is hidden in spoilers.... but the finals omg... I love your work seriously but this is so dumbfuck -.-* sry im really angry, because I just got home couldnt watch day4 and wanted to watch everything from round 16+.....

I'm not too sure that he actually will quit in a year. Lot can change in that time and if his results stay this way actually going back to school straight away can become very expensive. (and I assume less fun then being a professional gamer)
on a real note it's hard to believe hes only practicing 3-4 hours a day, stephano so goooood!!
Yea, isn't he out of high school now? Maybe hes playing a bit more. I really don't understand how these euro players all seem to say they only play 3-4 hours a day and yet they can take games, or tournaments, off koreans practicing 8+ hours a day.
I mean Whitera even said he streams 80% of his practice and he doesn't even stream that much, meaning he doesn't practice much at all and yet he does pretty well too. Meanwhile NA players who slack on practice like Tyler don't put up many results which makes more sense. I don't get it, euros are either liars or must eat super wheaties or something..
Still you got whole EG in prohouse, still not doing anything better than before the prohouse.

That has nothing to do with IGN and everything to do with the OP of this thread assuming you mean this topic. If it is an official IGN website they are to blame though.

He could have made a run through the best Koreans in the world, one after another, and people would have made some excuses. Korean jet lag, American food, something. People are incapable of giving a guy his due, because he isn't from South Korea. It's pretty stupid, but it is what it is.
That reminds me.
I think I respect MC more now (even though I'm not a fan) because of how he answered the question about how he should balance his korean/foreign tournaments participation and how it affects his play (cuz of travelling). I think he say something along the lines of "people who complain about jet lags are just making excuses."

I think if he continues to post strong results and make good money, then it will be hard for him to walk away, unless he really does see this as purely a way to earn money for school.

the q&a panel was really epic I can not even rememer all quotes I wanted to :D
I`m really happy for Stephano. He is one of the completest progamers I have seen in SC2 so far. Great mechanics, a sharp strategic mind and fast decision making. Congratulation Sir!
