I'm certain someone will come up with an expansion timing to hold this off. We already saw glimpses of this from Tails. I never mentioned anything about holding the 1-1-1 in my post. I just thought I should make a hopeful, honest 2k post. i hope that doesn't happen. i bet you'd love marines to be at BW status I can only hope.

they were idle... he wasn't making much while waiting for DTs which put his macro behind. note how he used 4 chronos on ALL 4 gates before the engagement. that's not a sign of good macro. that's him not being completely efficient with chronos.

When the DT went in Puma's main, I figured Hero should target down the tech lab on the starport first so that Puma can't build more Raven since the OC didn't have enough energy for a scan anyway and there's no other way to detect the DTs. I'm not sure if Painuser is right about there being a second raven. I didn't see the first one go down. He may have just flew it back.
There was absolutely a second raven.
Anyway, HerO made a lot of mistakes in this game. Small mistakes mostly, but they added up. Lost a unit here or there, one costly bad engagement, perhaps should have added more gateways sooner (I'd have to check the replay to be sure, but I think he could have), maybe make 1 more sentry, and I'm sure there were other things he could have done to win. I think the issue most people have is, PuMa didn't really do anything special. HerO was constantly forced to make perfect decisions while PuMa was not, and that's where the sense of imbalance comes from.

how did they missed a drop.

Finding it slightly annoying that when HerO loses, there isn't a banfest. Even if he is part of the TL team, I don't think it should affect moderation of the threat.
Edit: Nm, thank you mods <3

One game doesnt make the balance, and it was a wierd one at that so just stop it. It is impossbile to compare two completly different races when talking balance. Statstic is the only thing you can really use. (Which clearly states terran is favored but taht another discussion which doesnt fit in this threa).

( oh yeah he killed all of pumas scv's too) on another note fuck blizzard
his shrine was still building when his obs died to the fuckin raven, going dts against a raven is just praying your opponent will screw up. its been repeated by top pros and forum posters over and over that the stargate/dt type 1-1-1 defenses are quite gimmicky and rely on the terran fucking up. puma did screw up a bit, but so did hero. if he was truly trying to hard counter 1-1-1 he could have just gone 1 gate expand and destroyed it like all tosses are destroying it these days. if he wasnt trying to hard counter it then his build was just as cheesy as a 1-1-1.

The funniest thing about these balance arguments is people almost always point out the mistakes Protoss makes against the Terran, and never focus on the Terran mistakes. HerO makes a proxy nexus? "bad mistake, he should fix that and he'd win". They don't point out the fact Puma pulled plenty of SCVs and did very little with them, losing them to phoenix and immortals while trying to get bunkers up losing a large amount of minerals. The amount of lee-way Terran has gets regards to mistakes is an imbalance in itself, HerO did enough to win.

or its a sign of him saving chronos because he knew he would need to increase gateway production once Puma tried to engage.

If HerO had won...would people not be complaining about cheese? He went proxy Stargate into DTs...
But because Terran won, Terran is the ultimate cheeser. It was one base vs one base and cheesy strats on both sides from the start.
I understand that people are cheering for the Liquid player and the Protoss hope but I don't know, it just seems silly to me how biased people can be.
I don't really enjoy watching games like this, but that's what I took from it. I hate the huge amount of Terrans in GSL too, but I don't get all the Puma hate. its puma hate because he was the guy who won, its really just terran hate and its because people are frustrated. Think of every sport with fans ever, if the game is THAT close when your side loses you are upset and want nothing more then to blame something else. Not to say i liked the game and i 100% understand where they are coming from, its just not PUMA hate its terran hate with pumas name in front This isn't generic Terran hate, you won't see anyone bitching when MVP legitimately outplays people.
Puma, on the other hand? He pulls this shit every tournament. His play is nothing special, yet he's still winning, it's disgusting. It becomes clearer when looking at his other matchups, like when he lost to Idra in IEM.
His playstyle is not unlike Polt's, it's no wonder people don't like either player. They exploit all the aspects people hate about SC2 (as opposed to the more BW-esque Terran players)
