this again says everything

win ipl "lol overhype"
out of open bracket mlg stupid lose to boxer on fire "lol overhype"
win again big tournament with koreans in not even 1 month "lol overhype"

this guy simple wins 2/3 tours he is playing in just 1 month make more money then you in 1 year and sure dude hes overhyped ... i mean look his games so bad right ? omg your funny

He's overhyped because people are acting like he's raptor jesus on wheels, when he's not. Yeah he's won two big tournaments in the past month, but that's a month worth of accomplishments, that's nothing that even almost merits the hype that's he's being given. People are treating him like he's nestea or mvp, and while he could technically be on their level, his accomplishments don't come anywhere close to meriting the treatment.

the thing is: some ppl dont care about past accomplishments, because they are dont mean too much and do not tell you how good a player acutally is currently.
They judge the acutal games because they rly do understand the game to some extend.

I see no1 in the thread who "over"hyped him, no1 compares him to MVP and NesTea. Some ppl argue about him being the best foreigner, which is debateable - or would you disagree?
The problem is that guys like you seem to ignore what he did and dont even count him as top foreigner. There is more people counting him out then overhyping him.

When i see threads of MLG or IEM China where HuK and IdrA won, i see 800 times more hype tbh

And I do think his methodology annoys the shit out of SC traditionalists. 4 hours a day. It probably aggravates the shit out of anyone who has put in 12 and a half hours of SC2 daily for year; someone who has put in a third of the time is outclassing you in a ridiculous fashion.
And on the pedestal these words appear -- "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!" Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Dont know if you have already been here.
But you should try own3d/khaldor and check TB his facebook.

I didn't cast that so unless Khaldor did then you're out of luck.

I think its becuase he has basically taking the foreign sc 2 scene by storm 2 weeks ago allmost no one in NA knew who Stephano was.

Emphasis on the word "NA". Europeans have known who Stephano was for many months. Most of the ignorant "overhype" or "he came out of nowhere" statements are from Americans who didn't pay any attention to the EU scene. They should, it's without question better than the US right now, would anyone dispute that?

Yeps, pretty much all from EU knew Stephano however I do understand why the NA gents are sceptical. We did also say happy was really good and he failed pretty hard in lans.

Btw TB great commentating today really enjoyed it :D

Especially the carrier joke had me laughing hard.

1) Many Americans knew who Stephano was since Home Story Cup, many others who are aware of the EU scene knew him even before then.

2) This overhyping came from French posters and Thorzain who says "SIGN ME UP FOR THE BEST FOREIGN ZERG!@!@" Although I admit the "out of nowhere" phrases came from alot of Americans.

3) Thanks for the generalizations, I won't be watching your shallow casting anymore from here on out. Then again shallow generalizations are your speciality it seems, whether it comes to your casting or your business style.

Why do people need to be so negative? Too many comments like these around here.. Just because there have grown a lot of tournaments this last year doesn't mean ESWC has become nothing.

And Stephano has won his second tournament in 2 weeks now, he doesn't even get as much attention as he deserves! Keep fighting man!

Ya, let's just support players when they win. Congratulations Stephano for two championships in quick succession!

I've been convinced for about a month that Stephano is the best zerg in the world, including Korea.

I don't see any other players that control their zerglings and roaches as effectively as Stephano. I don't know how he does it, but somehow he has mastered the art of not having lings running around not attacking. Watch him attack a siege line, he somehow separates his lings so that only the right amount surrounds the tanks and the rest carry on to attack the other units. Any other player I see do this, always has extra lings running circles around tanks and not attacking..... even Nestea last night vs MVP.

I would love to see him play a best of 7 vs MVP right now..... I would not be at all surpised if Stephano beat him.

This thread is ridiculous. In the last month Stephano beats MKP and a few code B Koreans while losing to Alive and Boxer, yet he's as good as Nestea who went 5-7 against MVP. Right. It seems like people have forgotten about Sen and Dimaga when talking about best foreign zergs. Too bad they had that Blizzcon thing to attend and couldn't be here to give Stephano a proper challenge.

Well how do you decide to support a player? Personally I would support someone based on good, intuitive or interesting plays. Stephano is completely changing the zerg metagame so I think he's worthy of it.

You guys remember Thorzain and Naniwa a few months back? Beat a few Koreans at some major tournaments, wining one or two as well, and people started praising them as gods and saviors of foreigners. They then get sent to Korea, and what of them now? oh right get knocked out of Code A first round multiple times. I don't see Stephano being any different atm.

Quoting for Irony, with emphasis on 'generalizations' .. Do not ask me to elaborate it is a pointless exercise if it is not smack in the face obvious what I mean. >_<

Also, it must really suck to be French on this forum.. whatta hate they have to endure..

Except it's less relevant listing all the players than who he actually beat...

He has no one worthy of mentioning in his group, then he beat Axslav, Cloud, MKP, Mana.

So the only one worthy of mentioning is MKP, whom just barely got back into Code S last season, and then not make it out of ro32. Add on to the fact that it was only a Bo3, and ZvT is Stephano's best MU, it definitely didn't deserve all the overhyping he got.

Thorzain only got knocked out once, Nani got knocked out twice, so what? There's quite a few top tier players who struggled in (or even out of) Code A for several seasons. Counting in GSTL, their performances in Korea have been pretty good overall.

They haven't disappointed at all, I have no idea what you were expecting. Any hype they got was largely justified.

Yea, I agree Idra,Thorzain,MC,Sjow,Marineking,MaNa,Grubby,Nerchio isnt a prober challenge o.0 Say what?

Yeah Stephano totally manhandled MC didn't he.

but he manhandled MKP, one of the most consistent GSL players out there? (Albeit not a winner), whats your point?

Nobody gets mad when people say Stephano is better than Axslav. They don't like it when they say he's better than Nestea.

Yea, it was complete domination. I felt sorry for MC the way Stephano destoryed him.
