Yeah, he only made more prize money than any foreigner in SC2 in two weeks, and he didn't have his hands behind his back and wasn't blindfolded? And people call that an achievement?

Yeah he's won two big tournaments in the past month, but that's a month worth of accomplishments, that's nothing that even almost merits the hype that's he's being given. People are treating him like he's nestea or mvp, and while he could technically be on their level, his accomplishments don't come anywhere close to meriting the treatment.

He has nearly a 70% win rate against koreans, and you say he is overhyped ? Haters gonna hate. I don't think he is at the level of MVP or Nestea, but still he could be a code S contender.

He's been doing well and he's good, i don't think many people are against saying that, he's beaten some koreans, and yet again been beaten by some koreans in the past tournaments he's been in. He IS overhyped because people treat him like he's the next nestea, and as far as we have seen his results don't come anywhere close to that. You acn say he's a great player, you could even argue that he maybe deserves some spot in gsl whether that be code a or code s, but he is 100% overhyped when people start comparing him to people like mvp or nestea.

We arnt treating him like he is Nestea or MVP all we saying is Stephano have now won 2 major lan tournaments in his last 3 lan tournaments and made allmost 60k dollars. Making more money then any other foreigner since release and having a 70% win ratio vs the korean players he faced. Thats veyr impressive considering he is just a kid with no korean training

I don't get the Stephano hate :S. It's hate of people knee jerk reactions to a handful of tournaments (not even that). That being said, anytime Idra does anything, good or bad, both sides explode and hate and love him regardless.

Win 2 tournaments, place high in the third one you participated in (18th/276) in 3 tournaments played in. Read that sentence, check the amount of prize money he has won in those 3 weeks, check what other "good players" have done in a year and get back to me on how absurd your comment is. If he stops playing tomorrow, he's still more successful than every other foreigner in SC2 history. He's not being overhyped by anyone who is stopping short of putting him on IMMvp and IMNesTea's level. He is absurdly good. I've watched this shit for a while now and the number of people who can put two No. 1's in 3 weeks in tournaments with that kind of bank and with that talent of players is the magical number of 1--that isn't being overhyped. So your sentence is just silly. Get back to you in a couple of months? Yeah, he'll still have done more in those 3 weeks than every other foreigner save Huk.

I think you can give up trying to defend that senseless position now. He's consistently come out ahead of even the best players. He's beaten MMA and MKP, not to mention beating some of the best foreigners very convincingly. And he's not just recognised by fans, but also by HuK, Ret, Idra, etc. He lost to Boxer after playing an epic number of games (which he said prior to MLG would be his weakness). He has yet to disappoint, so he's as much right to hype as any other foreigner.

I didn't cast that so unless Khaldor did then you're out of luck. I think its becuase he has basically taking the foreign sc 2 scene by storm 2 weeks ago allmost no one in NA knew who Stephano was. Emphasis on the word "NA". Europeans have known who Stephano was for many months. Most of the ignorant "overhype" or "he came out of nowhere" statements are from Americans who didn't pay any attention to the EU scene. They should, it's without question better than the US right now, would anyone dispute that?
