We needed this so badly. I was starting to get unhype as fuck about StarCraft 2.
Artosis: "It's like Detroit in there." Tasteless: "Lots of shootings and damaged buildings."

Damn just finished watching these VODs. Finally a day of GSL that made me sit back in my chair and go, "Whoa..." It's been a long time coming, so a VERY welcome surprise!

It could have been kind of a nice story, if DRG actually made it to the finals from getting into Code S through a backdoor, but must say I am a little bit glad that he didn't. He was just so overhyped! Anyway, even getting to Ro16 in your first Code S is an amazing achievement, so let's hope he does well the next time.

Took 5 minutes to search the TeamLiquid site. Only including the GSL since it is the pinnacle of competition.

Body of Work: Nestea ZvT
2-0 vs TheBest (2010)
4-0 vs SlayersBoxer (2010)
2-1 vs Maka (2010)
4-3 vs MarineKing (2010)
W vs SlayersBoxer (Jan 2011)
W vs SlayersBoxer (Mar 2011)
W vs Jinro (May 2011)
W vs Jinro (May 2011)
3-2 vs sC (May 2011)
2-0 vs Bomber (Jun 2011)
2-0 vs Ensnare (Jul 2011)
W vs Happy (Aug 2011)
W vs MMA (Oct 2011)
W vs Nada (Oct 2011)
2-1 vs Virus (Oct 2011)

3 GSL wins

Body of Work: DRG ZvT
W vs TaeJa

0 GSL wins

It is absolutely absurd, absurd to even bring up DongRaeGu in the same sentence as NesTea. It is absurd. It would be like saying IdrA's ZvT is phenomenally on a different level than NesTea's because he beat PuMa at a tournament that didn't include anyone else of significant note. It's awesome that DRG beat some good players. He is a remarkable player. No one in Code S is a scrub, DRG included.

NesTea has managed to win three tournaments with a shitload of Terrans in them, just a couple of weeks ago face-melted Nada and MMA. MMA's TvZ is fucking insane. There was one moment during that entire game that anyone had this brief belief that MMA might have a chance. And half a second later, it was absolutely destroyed.

Will NesTea lose to MVP next week? My money is yes. But MVP is the only player better than NesTea whose TvT, TvZ and TvP is better than everyone else's. And yes, again, only including GSL.

Because that's the only thing that matters in this discussion. Sorry.
And on the pedestal these words appear -- "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!" Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.

That might be true, but DRG has actually beaten MVP in a series.

the only fanboys there are are the ones who are for drg. Yes he is great but why compare it to nestea? Acomplishments matters!
There are a lot of zergs who gives entertaining and intesne matches, not just drg. so lets just move on..

I'm a terran fanboy and will never cheer for zergs or protosses.

However, I have respect for Nestea because of what he has accomplished. In my opinion, DRG has been over-hyped. Yes, he had good GSTL performances, but this hasn't translated to the individual leagues.

I would also find it hard to imagine Nestea losing to Supernova and Nestea would definitely not have lost set1 if he were in DRG's position. At this moment, DRG absolutely cannot be compared to Nestea.

@Desert Fox

GSTL doesnt count anymore? Thats like saying a BW player is only good if he wins OSLs, and fuck how he does in Proleague.

You make a point, but I don't agree with it. That's all.

I already bought AoL and GSTL, but I paid $10 just for this night's games, and it was SO worth it! Every game, macro, back and forth, the level of play is improving steadily and the games are getting better!

Also, I think we're not giving enough credit to Supernova. He played as well as any Terran I've seen in those games. I like his style and how he shut DRG down by actually making enough turrets (something almost no top terrans do)

I wouldnt read too much into this loss for DRG he still played well and should have won 2 : 0 if he hadnt derped it up in game 1. He was probably just nervous because he still hasnt proven he can hang with the best in Code S. I am convinced he can though, only a matter of time.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all, but understand that people like to latch on to DRG because they want to think of him as the NEW Zerg god.

This sort of thing is common in virtually all competitive environments where there's fans. People understand who the best is but they like to start rooting for other people anyway just so that when he/she wins they can say "Oh but I was a fan FIRST!"

There's nothing really harmful about it, and in my opinion I think it's healthy for a sport when everyone has fans even if they aren't the best.

MarineKing is my favorite player, but I don't think he's better than MVP. I'll cheer for him to win all day against MVP but in my heart of hearts I know what the reality is.

The same is true for DRG fans. They all know Nestea is better whether or not they want to admit it, but that doesn't mean they cant hype him up as much as Artosis hypes up Nestea.

And yet apparently the GSL sucks now because there's no Protoss in it.

I think Tuesday night just confirmed that racial diversity or lack thereof doesn't necessarily equate to epic games.

It hurts to read you call me a fanboy. My favorite players are Huk and Idra. I don't need to support Nestea; his results speak for themself, man.

Seriously guys zerg went 4-5 vs terran today, thats hardly grounds for balance whine. As for the complaints about only one protoss inthe ro16, give the patch a chance, protoss has been performing very well in the GSTL, its just a shame most protoss were already eliminated from code S before it hit.

Does people think mule is balanced? In late game zvt , like DRG vs SuperNova in game2, supernova lost a lot of scvs and only has one base. After using mules, his economy is way better than DRG with 3 bases. If you are a protoss or zerg, you have already lost the game.

Does people think larva is balanced? In late game zvt, like Nestea vs Virus, Nestea loses most of his army in one engagement. After using larva, his army is re-maxed immediately, way better than Virus. If you are a protoss or a terran, you have already lost the game.
