Thank you, i felt the same way about the idra v puma series.

erm the game on Tal'darim was "Puma not playing to his best" ?
Are you serious?

It's the same guy who was constantly going on about how he thought the Puma and IdrA match looked rigged three pages ago. Leave him be.

I never said it was rigged, lol. now who's making things up?.

and yes game on tal'darim didnt seem like he was trying his best, what i saw was things him not taking the chance to roll idra on one occasion or him not focus firing a hatchery on 2 consecutive drops. to be honest from watching the replay the feeling I got was like he was teasing idra and constantly trying to play from behind, I KNOW this can't be the case but im telling you that's how bad he seemed to me.

You don't know anything about sc2.

No, you. times infinity and i win.

why would you even respond that to what i said? from which part can you infer about my knowledge of sc2? educate me, please. because i don't see how stating some facts about a match implies i don't know about the game, preferably on PM if you will.

^ Stop shitting up the thread. Literally everyone disagrees with you. Go away. Post somewhere else. Ignore us and we will in turn ignore you.

Game 4 is a MUST WATCH for IdrA fans! Something is going to happen here that you won't want to miss :3

That was so amazing!

Couple of things disapointed me about the series, the multitask/macro was great in all the games but.

1. No marauders vs Ultras, even though he had the tech labs and barracks from making so many ghosts. Super passive game from Puma.
2. No ghosts vs Infestor/Brood lord.
3. Incomplete wall off into all marines being hit by two banelings.
4. Puma never applied early pressure, no cheese, no good ol bunkering, no 11/11. Played straight up macro games everytime with Idra. Why?

Idra showed us some of his best play yet, not sure if this is because he's comfortable vs his teammate or he's learning to suppress his rage - compared to Dreamhack Idra vs Hero it felt his multitask was on another level alltogether.

It's probably because in practice Idra held it off pretty easily each time or practiced against it a bunch. They are afterall, teammates and lived together for a bit. They probably know each other tendencies inside and out.

I think they played over 20 games against each other in one day when Puma was in the US. I would bet Puma felt Idra would have sniffed out any fast aggression and he didn't want to risk it. Against team mates, players are going to play differently due to the amount of experiences they have against each other.

Good tournament overall, it didnt even look like puma was trying very hard against idra though. That or he was just making lots of silly mistakes , wich is uncharacteristic of him. We dont ever really get to See much of his TVZ though, it could be the reason he never did well in korea though besides that one time in the team leagues. I wouldnt be surprised. If he had to go against revival instead of JYP he may not have even made it out of the quarters (and idra probably wouldnt have either if he had to face JYP)

Either way some very uncharacteristic mistakes from Puma, made me think he wasnt trying that hard or something, at least thats how it felt when i was watching it. Idra played well though.

He just played a passive style, the only game where he was clearly making mistakes was game 3 when he kept leaving his depo down IMO.

I don't really like the 1 rax cc into 2 fact BF hellion build though.

no ghosts in game 2 was a huge mistake.

from what eco? ghosts don't grow on trees ya know...

Yes i agree that you should counter broods with ghosts, but you need a few of them for that to work (meaning you need at least 1 per brood, usually you need 2 per, meaning you either start when you scout his greater spire morphing or you have the eco to build 5 ghosts at the same time).

This man is correct ^^. Puma simply didn't have the economy, there was something like a 10 minute stretch where puma was only on <30 scvs and only 1 real mining base

1) Mauruders really arent that good vs ultras. Sure they are pretty decent and better than marines, but... If idra tech switches and puma has to many mauruders he is kidna fucked. Massing ghosts late game is much much better.
2) He didn ot have the economy to get ghosts.
3) He made one mistake in the shakuras game with the battle micro. terran is kinda unforgiving.
4) There is a difference between "solid pressure", like hellion harass, banshee, drops before muta play, and light tank marine pressure and "all in pressure", like 11/11 and 2 base tank/marine pushes. Idra is pretty good at defending allin pressures (though he has some probs vs bunker rushes on shakura). Using only "solid pressure" requires that you have really good mechanics, which only korean top terrans have (including puma). Puma could definitely still win, however he just made some mistakes/idra played well and lost. But his strategy wasn't the problem.
