American ProLeague is back during the off-season to bring you some smaller scale events!
Is there a better team than yours? APL will begin its off season KOTH style team vs team games in two weeks!
These games will be played “Pokemon style” and I mean that literally. Each team participating will have a roster of 6 and two teams will duke it out on a list of pre-determined maps. Just like in Pokemon, your team loses when all of your Pokemon (players on your team) have fainted (been defeated). And just like in Pokemon, you decide what Pokemon you are sending out during the battle. The player that wins the game does not have to stay on to play the next map, you may swap that player out. Of course, both teams will declare their next player at the same time.
Rules amendment starting week 4:
After a team has won a game, they must first declare whether their player will be switched out or if they are going to be using a different player for the next game. The team does not have to say which player they are switching in, only that they will be deploying a different player for the next game. Then both teams will tell the admin which player they are deploying at the same time. (so neither team has specific knowledge of which player the other team is deploying until players have been added to the game). Although this deviates from how pokemon is played we believe that this will allow more interesting tactical decisions by the teams.
The rules are subject to change as we mold our rules to help produce the most interesting matches as possible.
With these rules we have a potential of playing 11 games per week. We will play games live at 2pm eastern (without exception – sorry!) on Saturdays. The first week will be Oct 8th.

any possibility of prizes/bounties for this? =D should be a fun/interesting concept maybe that teams have to put up a certain amount of money (start small at like $5-10) and the winning team takes part of the money toward their bounty (50%), then when they lose, the team that beat them gets their bounty to keep, and starts a bounty of their own.
its something similar to what they to for the IPL Team Arena, except it would be funded by the teams rather than the league. just an idea
i may have written things wrong, but u get the idea =D

I dont know if teams would be up for spending money on this, but I'll think about it.
in theory:::
team A vs team B both put up 10 bucks
A wins and gets their deposit back + 5 bucks and 5 goes into the "bounty"
team A vs team C both put up 10 bucks
team C wins and gets their deposit back + 5 bucks + the "bounty", and the extra 5 dollars goes into the "bounty"
if that sounds good to anyone, let me know and ill put it into consideration as we move forward.

Great news for TPW! MotM Sanctuarium and Arttifice are TPW maps as well and both made by Funcmode.
It's Overgrown, btw not OverGrown. It will be great to see it being played right before Shakuras Plateau, since it can be considered a better version of that map

Am I watching the streams from matche splayed last week?
TPW Artifice was played, but its Sanctuarium and Overgrown in the map pool for this week, not Artifice?

yea totally messed up and i went with week 1 maps instead of week 2. no harm done cuz neither team actually knew the map list....and team sC was supposed to play this week but they forfeit because they didnt send me their lineup in time. so i had to scramble to see if there was a team that would play - if you go to our liquidpedia, weeks 1 & 2 were both forfeited by teams that didnt show.
hope everyone who tuned in did enjoy the match and tune in next week for Convergence Gaming vs Chaos Factors - same time - same stream.

and that was a play on words from the pokemon theme song. I thought it was clever until i tried to say it during the first cast. We have since been referring to it as the APL PkM style KOTH cuz its shorter.
