A few people turned up to the stream, there's no news from anyone to say it wasnt going live, no news to express a delay and someone mentions there's no one to cast. People see MrBitters twitter update and 2+3=4. With no one to say otherwise you can only see how the rumour mill gets fueled.
Obviously mixed communications between a lack of ability to cast and there being no casters isnt the biggest mind leap you can do based on a bunch of people not being given any meaningful information, only snippets from friends at the event.
Either way, it should have been broadcast the stream wasn't going to happen and perhaps the reason for it.
I think anyone who had an interest in the sc2 event who are shuddering in disbelief that a bunch of people who organise LANs "professionally" cant order enough PCs in time for installation and testing before the event starts is arguably justifiable.
I'm just sad it showed the sc2 community how backward the uk scene is in terms of organisation and service. seriously, the UK scene is not "backwards" it is a singular event. !!" I disagree. We cast the last EGL, it was a mess. I didn't ask to be paid for that event, I asked for VoD rights just to cover my travel and accomodation. The VoDs ended up being so awful in quality they were unusuable, because the incorrect equipment was there for production. Multiple i-Series have had issues, with i43 being the slickest to date. Most of the UK events I've seen or been involved in have had a multitude of issues that put them leagues behind events in other countries. Multiplay is getting there and are putting in some serious effort, ECL it turns out has now messed up twice in a major way. Myself and Apollo both said "we ain't coming back" after the last ECL. As it turns out, it clashes with prior engagements we both had anyway, but by the sounds of it if I were down there I'd have been flipping tables, it is yet another UK event that has been a mess from the start if this thread is anything to go by. I am hoping i44 nails it, with IGN's help I reckon it will. The UK scene has taken too many kicks to the bollocks already, we don't need any more.
So instead of giving advice and helping one of the few organisations in the UK that are running SC2 events you decide to turn your back on it entirely? Thats proactive...
Also the first ECL event for SC2 wasn't that bad, they provided a seperate staging area specifically for SC2 and all the PCs needed to run the event and everything worked to schedule. Saying you didn't work for a fee isn't entirely true either seeing as the SC2 was broadcast via your stream.
I couldn't make it to EGL London and it sounds like the faults are somewhat inexcusable, but bitching about them on a forum instead of giving some constructive input is hardly productive is it?

hai stream looking handsome and dignitas tan looking even better!

In case people reading this thread hadn't already worked out, the stream is up! We're doing half the WB at a time so the other 4 ro16 matches are about to start. Semi 1 is 4K's Dream against tandongho.
EDIT: The 8 guys left in the ro16 are setting up now, as you can hopefully see on the screen. We'll be live shortly.

I will be updating as many of the results that are not on-stream as I can on twitter for those following games that aren't on the live stream.
Edit: I should also point out that while there were lots of technical issues yesterday, I'm incredibly impressed with how the EGL team held together and managed to get almost all the group games done on Saturday despite being down to as few as 4 computers at one point. Some of them had not slept in days and their hard work meant the tournament could go ahead full-steam on the Sunday and saved from potential disaster. Big props and applause

Wish Deranging would attack once he hits 200/200 instead of sitting around and getting 8k minerals!

I can only Apologise for the issues at the event. I worked 48 solid with out an sleep to get a runnable tournament from bad situation that should of never occurred. I had to make a hard call and cut the stream for extra tournament PC's.
We are back on schedule and have a great stream. I hope you all enjoy.

Same old story with EGL/ECL/whatever. Enough with the stories already.
You need the motherfucking NutCase running these events.

Sorry guys I was only aware of the situation last minute (only casted the last 2 series) and I know it sucks. For what it's worth I'm going to try and get the replays to stream the finals tomorrow evening from home, pending approval, so that at least some who wanted to watch can catch up. This isn't something arranged, we're trying to do this simply to try and make some of it up to the viewers. I'll update this thread tonight / tomorrow.

lol thing is everyone has access to mobile phones cant see why the EGL website just wasnt updated of this thread so people didnt waste time waiting for a stream that wasnt coming.
Im also not sure why they hadnt set the computers up before the evetn and yes I know they were installing consoles but this is what happens when you leaev the very late hours the day before.... The computers etc should of been setup up previous so this wasnt going to happen.
Hopefully the EGL learn lots from this and their next event is run much more smoothly.
EDIT:
Also what is happeneing now? Are they still playing? who won?
