I could go home but I hope to stay and get the replays so at least they can be cast later.

Lol at the finals not being casted, its shameful You have no idea what you're talking about so please stop posting in this thread. Take your anger out somewhere else. As someone who actually attended and saw the amazing effort put in by the staff to correct what wasn't their fault to start with, everyone should actually be proud of what has transpired over this weekend. SCAN computers didn't send half of the promised computers, and a further third of those that did turn up didn't have sound working because they had been used the week previous for a build a computer as quickly as possible competition in London. Therefore there were only 4 computers to play on until the streaming computers were pulled to catch up with the competition. In addition to this, the stage audio gear was found not to work on Saturday morning despite being tested beforehand. The casters DID turn up and I agree with what Leon said above, to suggest otherwise with no evidence to the contrary is clearly a mistake. The other problems have been detailed in the thread - but these all stemmed from being unable to get the computers set up - they couldn't adhere to any schedule. I don't know about people being DQd for getting food, that sounds like an exaggeration to me - if you were playing around lunchtime then eat earlier or after your group had finished. I never had any bad experience regarding this - there were only 4 consecutive bo3s to play at most. Needless to say, I don't feel these mistakes will be made again - everything is a learning experience and they will improve. I would also like to suggest that we shouldn't have to get there for 9:30 if the games won't start until 1 but I feel that this might be a logistical thing that might be unavoidable. Hopefully it can be corrected for next time. The money charged was in line with the other games and is how they support the event, because no one gets behind it they can't get sponsorship on an MLG/GSL scale. Get behind British e-sports rather than being a keyboard warrior from behind your PC. In the face of a lot of controversy, a lot of people worked very hard to correct things that were beyond their control and bring us a tournament. Obviously it was not ideal but a big shout out to those who put in the effort to even run it!

We only DQ'd one person over the weekend, and that was on Sunday morning for a no-show I think this was part of the problem. If you declare rules, you should stick by them. I can't emphasize how amazing the staff were this weekend but I find it ridiculous that people that were over an hour and half late were not disqualified Saturday morning. You guys made most of the people wait 3+ hours to begin and thats just not right. I know you can't make everyone happy and being super strict about lateness can cause problems but when people are 2 hours late for registration don't allow them to do that!

We only DQ'd one person over the weekend, and that was on Sunday morning for a no-show Just like the post above, this seems to be one of the biggest problems. I spoke with one of the competitors today that turned up slightly early, just to make sure there were no potential problems. He said he waited almost 4 hours before his first game, because two of the people in his group were late. Apart from that, he said the thing was run extremely well given the circumstances. That, and the apparent lack of rules when it came to group tiebreakers...

Please bear with the organisers, and I will try to shed a bit more light from my perspective on things tomorrow for what it's worth to the community. :-) I think we should be thanking you for a great job today John, you did a great job, and hopefully I'll see you at Barcraft for Providence!!

Players and staff both really friendly and despite some technical problems the event was really well run. Why people are complaining is beyond me. Cheers everyone, see you all at EGL5?! xoxoxoxoxoxo
