You can't really say that he is consistently getting into top8 now can you? The only thing that gives you direct code S spot for the next season is a ro8 spot, do you know how the new system works?

Where is an example of that? Huk held a 4 gate with only 1 gate and won the zealot/stalker battle. And huk did some decent probe harrass...
bah I give up, but Elfi is definitely not the better player

Sure...not like Huk was jet-lagged since he travelled from Korea, where he plays in GSL...where your "better" player Elfi doesnt and never will be playing ^^
Huk hasn't done anything GSL related for weeks. He didn't even go to the Code S selections.

Only players who make the Ro8 are guaranteed a spot in code S the following season. Huk has only managed that once.
They also have two chances to make it back to Code S if they're KO'd in the ro16 now, and (basically) 2 chances if they're KO'd in the ro32 in 3rd place, they just have to play an extra set.

Although it kinda sucks when you have to fly all over the world to get there, I personally think its the best. Every game feels like the most important game in the tournament.
In this case, HuK also gets to play a showmatch for $1k on Sunday as well as chill out and enjoy Helsinki so it's probably the most player friendly live invitational you can think of.
I wouldn't really care about 1000$ if code S is on the line soon for Huk
But meh, just arrive Finland might as well enjoy over there

Even if that's the case, he still consistently wins games against players who have far superior mechanics, which really shouldn't be possible. Hopefully we'll eventually reach the point when that NEVER happens

The time we saw it (when there where around 3 probes left) the zealots were already damaged. So it wasnt like he didnt notice it, but he didnt have the multitasking to micro on both ends.

Just no. HuK's micro (and even multitasking even though there was nothing to multitask) was better, elfi won with build orders basically. HuK skipped the sentry, that's about it.

I'm gonna argue that Elfi is better than HuK in PVP. Maybe not overall, but HuK's best matchup has not traditionally been that one.
He got into Code S on PvP, so I'd say his PvP is pretty good....
I know this is a LR thread but can we be serious for one second?
Huk scouted the last 4 Gate with is probe, he needed to warp in a sentry instead of a stalker to block his ramp in order to gain time. He didn't do that. That was a mistake. The game before elfi faked him out and huk misread what was happening, despite only having two gates at that time he managed to get 3 units in Huks base and even kill probes. That was a mistake.
elfi maybe isn't on the same level mechanicaly but his gameplan and general build execution was far superior to Huk in almost every game.

Actually the noise-cancelling headphones they wear are far more important for blocking out noise than the booths are. Sure, booths help, but it's not the main thing.

While this is called a strategy game, rather than a multitasking game, Elfi is the better player in the set.
