he actually did that? lame :/
Man the flaming and dumb arguments in this thread have even passed the normal TL threads

I don't know what his issues are but I do not feel he should be allowed to stay in TL anymore if he isn't going to take it seriously and ragequit midway in a NASL series(assuming that is what he did because he didn't even answer his phone). This week he started to stream. Lost the first game to a random zerg. Got mad and simply quit. I feel bad for Tyler. He has good mechanics, lots of creativity and raw talent. Too bad he doesnt take the game serious like other progamers do. i dont think people not taking the game seriously would get that upset about losing Yeah you can, if you have an elitist attitude and think you can somehow cheat the system and get by on raw talent alone. The fact is Tyler could own almost anyone if he practiced half as much as Koreans do. But he doesn't, which is the point. Sc2 doesn't run on raw talent alone, otherwise Stephano would arguably be the SC2 Bonjwa. It also runs on commitment, drive, and practice time, which Tyler has been lacking. Does he have the talent? Yeah. But hypotheticals such as "he would own up IF..." mean nothing, because he didn't. Where did all this Stephano praise come from all of a sudden? I feel like EVERYONE is saying he has the most talent out of any player on earth, but I have no idea why. What has he won? All this hype for him materialized out of nothing, I swear >.> No it didn't. If you're asking "what has he won", obviously your perceptions of talent and skill in Starcraft players are somewhat limited. Try watching some actual games.
People will always say stuff like this. It's incredibly easy thing to say. Results is a concrete way of measuring someone's skill. Your perception of how much talent he has by watching his games is very subjective. It just annoys me though when people are being dicks about it, like some hipster fanboy or something.

I guess it could be 10 different things .

Nony ragequit before, including once during his spectecular run to win the TSL2, and flamed Mana (or blamed the map, same deal) in the past NASL (+other smaller ones), so i can believe what Xeris wrote here.
He is one of the greatest minds in sc2, his thoughts are always so well put and beautifully expressed in posts and talkshows that i am always amazed, but that doesnt change the fact he canot put up results since the early days, and sometimes misbehaves. I actually think the same as others mentioned before, he'll quit after the MLGs.
I'd say it would be a great loss, but idk what hurts me more, not having him competing or having to see him struggle like this.

So why did you choose "ragequit" if youre not sure? Unless you have substantial evidence (which you might) youre word choice is poor to say the least.

What did it say?

Well, in all probability, Tyler turned off his computer because he was pissed off, but when a statement like "Tyler ragequit " comes from the public representative of the league it's still childish. Everyone loses. I'm kind of tired of Xeris being the NASL's mouthpiece.

I'd be surprised if these were pre-recorded though because last season the NASL did the games live.
No, last season everything was played on Monday at 1pm EST. (Which was a huge problem for anyone with a job in the US, there was some buzz about it.)

Its just a way to put it in term that your brains and most can understand. It's direct and straightforward. Forfeit is more professional but its vague and the post will fill with question WHY??!!

Basically it was a chat with one of NASL guys concerning that issue.

Well I brought it up before because we haven't received confirmation that it was a ragequit, there could be many other reasons besides getting pissed off that could've happened. Xeris posted it so I questioned it since he didn't seem so sure for what we call 'The horses mouth'

Barring some tragi occurence or medical emergency that needed to be taken care of, this incidence shows a great lack of professionalism on the part of Tyler, especially since he supposedly did not even bother to answer his phone to give a response after forfeiting.
The fact that people are so eager to forgive him based on his friendliness with the community is a mite unfair I feel. It shouldn't matter if you're Idra or you're Gandhi, your actions should speak for themselves regardless of how chill you may have been in the past.
That being said, if circumstances come to light where Tyler was physically unable to play the match, then of course we should be understanding. Otherwise, why should he be exempt from the lambasting PainUser got, or any other regular pro gamer would get/?

Sorry to tell you fanboys but this is the Tyler we knew from BW (as long as he loses) and he hasn't really changed that much
|
Tyler hasnt delivered anything really since the BETA, if even then, Hell I dont think ive suported him at all in last year as he just hasnt done anything worthwhile. Can only live off past glory for so long.
Every game went as I predicted.

Why did NASL even show that first match? Were they trying to make threads go crazy? Why didn't they just say it was a walk-over after talking it over with TT1 or something...? I mean, they can and should fine Liquid'Tyler if it was a purposeful disconnect... but otherwise... I just don't get it...

I'm afraid Tyler is never gonna get back to the top ...

Even if he somehow started practicing on a regular basis, he would still be behind the curve and a mid-level pro at best.
