MLG Raleigh Day 1 RED Live Report Thread - Page 381

Forum Index > StarCraft 2 Tournaments
Post a Reply
Prev 1 379 380 381 382 383 498 Next
Obligatory public note for all large tournament threads:

The following is a list of behaviors that will get immediate bans:

1. Whining about stream
2. Bashing other games
3. Flaming other users
4. Bashing players
5. Complaining about imbalance.

It is in no way complete. Keep in mind that there's a difference between pointing out that the SC2 and CoD streams were switched and whining about it (same thing on pointing out/asking about stream lag and whining about it, etc.). Also, just because you post something and aren't immediately banned for it doesn't mean you won't get caught. We'll be going through this thread very carefully.

That being said, enjoy today's games!

Time stamp: page 38, 6:23.

I'm sorry to say this, but the current korean dominance is killing the enjoyment of western tournaments for me. There's just no one to root for, because no one seems to have a chance.

Lol, idk what you guys want.

- GSL, MLG, Dreamhack, etc tournaments going on
- People say tournament wins not legit cuz no Koreans
- MLG/GSL start exchange program
- Everyone says YAY THIS IS SO GREAT FOR E-SPORTS
- Koreans begin MLG domination (as is expected due to lack of intense foreigner practice)
- People say events are boring

You know what's killing the enjoyment of western tournaments? THE LACK OF WESTERN PRACTICE.

Probably different ppl saying the different things on the list, now that cant be that hard to figure out? And ofc its dissappointing to see the koreans own even if u like the competition to be as though as possible.

Yeah, I was going to say it was weird how they picked Painuser for this, even if they shot it at the beginning of this season/end of last season he was barely top 16 if I recall correctly.

Was it just for that stream or for both? No more naniwa tonight?
I thought they'd finish the group play, no?

yea they will but for some reason both streams are casting the same game =/, is that normal?(first time watching the mlg stream)

When they show on both streams it gives a caster pair to get a break and get food.

The only reason i watch MLG is because of the koreans, I never watched the old MLG's because without koreans its like watching a lower level competition..

Yeah the casters get a break for a series and the other series is on both streams, it takes them awhile to separate them again.

I always lol at people who say it's such a disappointment when koreans beat foreigners. Why? Because their skin is white? Why do people from the US somehow lump themselves together with people from the Ukraine and Sweden? With Chinese players and Latin American players? Just makes no sense. "Korean" esports are now becoming esports throughout the world with their participation in foreign tournaments and foreign participation in their tournaments, this isn't Brood War. Tons of Koreans are joining foreigner teams and there are tons of mergers going on.

So silly, I really can't think of anything other than skin color that makes Korea different. People love it when good Swedes dominate but if it's Koreans, oh no this tournament is so boring I wish foreigners would win.
I agree, I root for players specifically not nationalities. I think rooting for foreigners or being a fan of foreigners for the sake of them being a foreigner is just nonsensical. I don't think I will ever understand it. Whenever someone posts the "foreigners fighting" slogan for GSL events I grow a brain tumor.

kiwikaki, naniwa, huk.... what are you talking about?

When is the last time they won? I agree with original poster. I love to see Koreans be in foreign tourney, but not to dominate. Right now we are basicaly giving money away to support Korean esports.

kiwi beat nada today. naniwa is a beast and is practicing in korea now; showing some great improvement. huk is in code s ro8 so.....

k, Rotterdam stated on his twiter that MC alone has about 100k from western touneys, Puma has another 57k. Those two players alone made more from western scene than we did from theirs

he asked who to root for. i gave him names of good players. what are you talking about? your post seems a little xenophobic.

This is the time when casters take their brake (one pair casting, others eat or whatever)

Yea its because casters need a break
To actually have 2 streams running at the same time with different games on them would require double the amount of casters there is now to keep up the stream diversity through the whole tournament.
