MLG Raleigh Day 1 RED Live Report Thread - Page 379

Forum Index > StarCraft 2 Tournaments

Obligatory public note for all large tournament threads:

The following is a list of behaviors that will get immediate bans:

1. Whining about stream
2. Bashing other games
3. Flaming other users
4. Bashing players
5. Complaining about imbalance.

It is in no way complete. Keep in mind that there's a difference between pointing out that the SC2 and CoD streams were switched and whining about it (same thing on pointing out/asking about stream lag and whining about it, etc.). Also, just because you post something and aren't immediately banned for it doesn't mean you won't get caught. We'll be going through this thread very carefully.

That being said, enjoy today's games!

Time stamp: page 38, 6:23.

Sadly, kind of agree--I think the skill gap is increasing too. The difference I see is an accumulation of tiny errors that Koreans exploit.

Well, Bomber did say that Sjow's TvT is Code S-caliber play.

Yeah--what I'm seeing is just the slightest sliver of skill differential. But over the course of a 15 mins games it adds up to GG for westerners.

edit: beaten to it

Seems like most of the korea vs the world games are going to a third game. This is a good sign, methinks.

kiwikaki, naniwa, huk.... what are you talking about?

When is the last time they won? I agree with original poster. I love to see Koreans be in foreign tourney, but not to dominate. Right now we are basicaly giving money away to support Korean esports.

kiwi beat nada today. naniwa is a beast and is practicing in korea now; showing some great improvement. huk is in code s ro8 so.....

It pays to play under the Korean regime.

truer words have never been spoken. they are still foreigners though.

I won't stop watching. But I basically agree that tournaments are far less enjoyable with Koreans always winning. Sorry, it's the truth.

Isn't the tournament's fault, its the foreign players fault.

Wouldn't have it any other way.

It is funny people have problems with players who practice harder and sacrifice more and win because of that. What happened to appreciating players who work hard?

lol this scouting play book thing is adorable

"well, on this map I'm probably going to scout pretty early to look for proxy pylons or gateways, so I think I'm going to scout at 11 in this particular situation"

Bomber isn't performing as well as I thought he would, dropping games to Sjow and Machine.

Lol, idk what you guys want.

- GSL, MLG, Dreamhack, etc tournaments going on
- People say tournament wins not legit cuz no Koreans
- MLG/GSL start exchange program
- Everyone says YAY THIS IS SO GREAT FOR E-SPORTS
- Koreans begin MLG domination (as is expected due to lack of intense foreigner practice)
- People say events are boring

You know what's killing the enjoyment of western tournaments? THE LACK OF WESTERN PRACTICE.

Not sure its practice or its style of practice but other than that minor quibble I agree with you completely. Thankfully I dont root for players based on what geographic location they were born in!

Uh.... root for DRG? ....

Besides how I don't think he has a particularly interesting style (would rather root for Coca), I already watch the GSL. I can enjoy the games in terms of how well played they are etc, but the point of western tournaments seems lost when there really aren't any good "westerners" to root for. The gap in skill is just so huge. It feels like this MLG will be top 3-4 Korean yet again.
