he placed that pylon about half a second before his previous pylon died. he had no time to get to gas to place assimilators. At least that's what i saw with what commentators showed.

1 base collosus vs 2 base blink stalker from mc turned into a base race and almost a stalemate, but MC took the risk to snipe the last pylon guarded by manas army.

U guys dont realize that it was IMPOSSIBLE to build two assimilators ?
His Pylon on the center got sniped and Manas probes weren´t near the gas so he had to build an pylon as fast as he can. Otherwise he would have lost the game.

Basically came down to a base trade, the last pylon MaNa had in his main base, and MC suicide blinked onto it.
Took the risk to think that it was MaNa's last minerals, and it worked out  .

base trade, mana had immobile army, mc went for FE. mc had blink, so it went base trade from the start
mana made mistake for not preparing for base trade enough
