Pretty hard to outshine BW indeed and it's mostly the PLAYERS that makes the FANS dedicated FLASH JAEDONG all those great players unless they go sc2 which i hope they wont :< it would be hard for sc2 to try to take over
Lol you guys its a showmatch and Yellow did pretty good. Let me say this tell me witch zerg won vs hellion fe with blue flame with marines and hellion drop in MLG? So think before you trash talk.....
Boxer used some pretty legit strats considering yellow has extremely little experience with the units, etc, but played them half heartedly and slowing the pressure when yellow was in a bad position. Basically, it was a silly and fun set of games between a high level terran and a former bw player who lacks game knowledge and ran almost purely on his basic bw knowledge.
Why is there so much complaining? Right... intarwebz.
This was fun to see; Boxer mostly just being silly. His ridiculously cheesy grin on that first bunker rush was priceless. I was not disappointed but maybe it's because my expectations on the level of play were not ultra-high.

They need to have a game between Nestea and MC or Nestea and Bomber right NOW! on STAGE!!!!!!
Uh, if you never played or watched SC2 (like the BW players you speak of,) then you wouldn't know how high level play can get. And BW players aren't braindead. They know Yellow hasn't played this much. I highly doubt they were expecting Jaedong vs Flash in SC2.
I'm saying that there are a lot of ppl / gamers in korea who are not interested in SC2 SC2 is pretty damn unpopular in Korea compared to BW and this was the chance to get more players to convert to SC2 and BW
and yes even though they didn't expect a super high level game, if they see a boring game they will simply continue to think that SC2 is an inferior game compared to BW
You're missing the point. The only reason this is boring is because we (as regular SC2 viewers) are used to very high level play and know the intricacies of SC2. The bad play from Yellow is from not knowing what the units do or what upgrades exist, etc. His actual mechanics are fine.
You are missing the point. Hardcore BW fans and BW players are used to super high level play from Pro BW players (such as flash, jaedong, and many more) and this game probably won't satisfy them... (I'm actually reading posts on Korean BW / SC2 forum and all I see is ppl talking trash on SC2 lol after watching this show match)

You are sadly assuming that koreans a bunch of dumbasses, each and every one of them. They know its is just a showmatch, its suppose to be fun. It is why they have friendly banter, it is why there is so much chatting and laughing.
Those BW fans may have bias towards their own game but they also are not stupid enough to judge a entire game based on a simple showmatch between old rivals, one player who probably does not even own a copy of the game.
Doesn't matter a lot of casual gamers / bw players (who don't follow sc2 at all) want to see a good game even though they were expecting a bad game (because it is a show match between a pro vs a gold level player)
Doesn't hurt to give them a impressive game to show that SC2 is indeed a very fun game
I'm not saying they will be judging the whole game based on this game they are already judging SC2 and they are judging it pretty badly lol so I'm just saying this was a really good chance to show them a really good game of sc2 to hardcore / oldschool BW fans
if people judge anything about SC2 based on these games they're probably kind of braindead anyway -.-
there's loads of special bw events anyway, like the allstars matches and offrace stuff, this is the same thing....
If people don't follow the SC2 scene and community and it's literally their first tune in, they won't know what to expect. So some may well take it seriously :/
Why are people so worried about impressing anyone? Fact is, Boxer vs Yellow is NOT top tier SC2, so why would we pretend it is? If someone watched this game and went "these people suck! this game sucks!" then so be it (but I highly doubt any significant number of viewers did that.)
If someone were to take the time to educate themselves about top level SC2 and watch some GSL games, then they could see better play.

A 3rd time. BW lovers wont be impressed even IF Yellow practiced a month. The level of those games will not be close to high level BW. Boxer and Yellow are famous and old school, you need people like Puma/MC/Nestea for really high level games to impress BW fans.
YEA THAT'S WHAT I SAID IN THE FIRST POST Since this showmatch will / have not impressed the hardcore BW fans THEY should've shown Nada / July (BW players) or Nestea/MC/MVP pro match on Big Stage where SC2 lovers & BW fans are watching together!!
You can't impress a BW fan with SC2. A gap of dozen years of skill, refinement and history you can't just outclass with a single showmatch. You can, however, impress people with showing players all fans know and love by putting up a great showmatch.
I hope people realise zerg is tough to learn at the start when you don't know what to do as zerg and how to react to opponent's builds. It's not like toss and terran where you can perform at a certain level if you have good mechanics.

Who on earth expected that this match would be the tipping point for BW players?
Did the 3D glasses and the comical banter not give that away?
