This whole bo3 and if you lose you go home format is just dumb. For example Ret fought like a champ for months, had the best score through the entire NASL and whooooooops after 15 mins, he was out and that was it.

There is alot to be asked for from the NASL, but complaining about the format is kinda dumb imho.

Sure they put alot of effort into getting into the top 16, but so does everyone in the OSL/MSL aswell, and you dont see double elimination there, and no one complains. Having double elimination and tournament brackets works well for short LAN tournaments, but not for big leagues like this imo.

If anything maybe they should've played BO5, but that would take alot of time, and I'm just going to assume that they don't have that time at this finals (which could also be asked for I guess..)

It goes against the base principles of the league.

Incontrol was all about "finding the most skilled player". That's why there is a multi-month league leading up to the finals. Every player has to face multiple players to prove themselves.

But then once they get into the finals they only have to win or lose against one player in order to prove themselves worthy to advance? Wtf?

If you're going to use a single elimination finals bracket then you might as well use single elimination for the entire tournament so we don't have to sit through months of matches that lose appeal and value very quickly.

NASL had many options. They could hire professionals unrelated to SC2 scene, or they could even hire the Craftcup guys or iCCup people. Hiring your (girl)friends and buddies does not make things look professional at all. It gives people the impression that you rather have your friends working there than provide the customers with a good product, when the NASL started off with everyone raving about it's huge budget.
.

im flattered you talk about craftcup guys like that, i still think running a tourament like NASL is on a different level, but that doesnt change the fact that NASL had like 3 months to get everything ready and tested. The camera's in the booths. they were at first only showing the hair of the players!!! hasn't atleast ONE guy tried to sit in there and see if the camera was adjusted well?
I got a feeling that they didnt test a thing on forehand. Just cut 20k $ and hire some testcrew and run a fake match to see how everything goes... c'mon even I can do that:p

Darkforce had a nice game vs alive, then I fell asleep during a "short break". It was mostly roflstomps tho.

Exactly. It looked like no one checked anything. I would have never thought this is a 100K tournament. NEVER!

They way in which both Morrow and Hasuobs lost their games makes me ponder whether or not they threw the games in order to get out of this production nightmare.

You just have to take credits away from Koreans. Morrow off-race was an insult to his opponent to begin with and he made a fool out of himself. Sure, they flew all the way here to make themselves looking dumb.

You have no clue, wtf. It's not an insult, he just doesn't like to play coinflip ZvZ. In a recent podcast Darkforce said Morrow already has one of the best TvZ's in Europe because he really knows what he is doing, since he plays Z.

Well I guess Zenio isn't too much disappointed. Because he played ZvZ which is pretty...luck(?) based and vs Sen, the best foreigner!

This event should have gone a lot better then it did. If you can afford to throw that much money at something you should be able to use some of the money to hire proffesionals with experience at hosting these sorts of events.

I have no problem with any of the casters or interviewers. They tried their very best in a shitty situation. But when someone who is attending the venue to spectate has to go backstage and take over as observer, and also offer suggestions to fix you poor quality audio. You have issues, big issues.

The format is also one of the worst i have ever seen. Months of group stages and games down the drain in a best of 3 series? The number of games played needs to be increased, also I think that the structure of the brackets needs a losers or lower bracket as well.

Reward the guys who have played for months to get to this stage, dont give them the finger after 3 games.

I'm sorry if this sounded harsh, I want this event to go well and I love that you are attempting something like this.

Really wanted to check out a couple of the matches but was at work.

Ah well, good luck to Sen and Darkforce
