What happened to TL.net? There was much more enjoyment on these forums in the BroodWar days.

in BW the forums could safely agree that Idra was a bad joke

Now TL has a ridiculous amount of Idra fanboys

rekrul is just a hater. he should have supported the only english-speaking player in korea so that all of us english-speaking fans at home would have a hero to root for, because koreans have no personality. it was really inappropriate of him to make a thread singling out idra for all the dumb shit he said.

Yep isn't kind of sad it's mostly due to the fact that there aren't any good US players little at that and fanboys just try to protect him.

There is HuK. He is American and Canadian.

€: Dont get the reason for the whines... the bming? IdrA didnt get bmed at all imo.

HuK is Korean.

You're just begging for an argument. Clearly there is at least some logic behind him calling HuK American and Canadian. Why bother trying to get an argument going over that? Just let it go.

idra wasn't over hyped in broodwar. he trained so hard on the CJ b-team, lost to trap 1-2 in a very standard macro TvP in the GOMTV classic 2 in the first round, and basically dominated every single amateur foreigner event after he'd been training professionally for three years in korea. minus his fluke loss to nony in TSL3, is there a single amateur event that idra participated in he didn't dominate? plus his liquibition loss to f91 doesn't count because it was laggy and f91 is a pro in china anyways.

loss to f91 -> fluke
loss to nony -> fluke
can beat unpaid foreigner amateurs after training professionally for three years in korea -> pro

never change :D

that's unfair. idra couldn't find the time to learn korean because he was training full-time, so he couldn't really take advantage of being in a pro environment by interacting with his team mates and coaches. also he was probably unfairly discriminated against in estro; the estro players badmouthed him in an interview saying that nony was more friendly and more easy to get along with. idra is just a victim of his circumstances, your post history is basically a long list of clueless idra bashing.

Did you ever think maybe Nony really was "more friendly and more easy to get along with" than IdrA, who was known for his BM and lonewolf attitude? If you aren't nice to me, I'm probably not gonna be nice to you. That's not "unfair discrimination".

Ret also struggled immensely to fit into the estro house. If I recall correctly, he was forced out due to a misconception at one point (they thought he was leaking replays). Perhaps Nony just has the friendly personality that endeared himself to his teammates whereas both Idra and Ret struggled.

So he should have supported him simply because he was an English speaking player? I'm sorry but I couldn't disagree more, if his personality was that of a total douche, I wouldn't expect anyone to support him just because he had personality and spoke English.

Yeah, it was really inappropriate of him to single out IdrA for all the dumb shit he said, but it's okay that IdrA said dumb shit, I mean, because he was the only English speaking player in Korea right? He should have gotten a free pass. I can't tell if you're trolling.

Let's not derail this thread with more IdrA nonsense.

Yet he's the best in NA and arguably the best foreign Zerg? Won IPL, highest placing for foreigners in MLG. Got matched up against MC again in Dreamhack which was pretty unlucky...

Seriously your dumb if you think IdrA is overrated. I'm not a fanboy but thats just dumb.

Can someone tell me what the fuck happened around here? I leave, MC 1, Naniwa 1, and now all hell has broken loose. Naniwa beat MC correct? Well that's fucking fantastic, why aren't people talking about this? And Idra lost to a strong Terran? Why is this such a fucking big deal?

It's not. People just forgot that Naniwa won, because they were too busy whining about IdrA's loss

well apparently bm and a terrible attitude gets you a longer way than being nice does, because idra is a far more successful player than nony is in sc2. action and all those other ex-estro players are stuck playing an old game like broodwar with no real future in sight, while idra is an international superstar and is always a favorite to win any event without MC or a korean in it.

Because IdrA practiced 12 hours a day for years in Korea, "He shouldn't lose to these guys"...

OBVIOUSLY.

It's the usual nonsense.
