Shouldn't the first prize just be given to the "best" player without playing then? Interesting way to look at sports competitions, really.

And lately he seems to be getting worse, presumably due to suboptimal practice conditions and being lazy/arrogant. So many Koreans were better BW players too, I don't know why people even bring up his BW history :/ And no one claims he's better than the average Code S Korean--and he is on their level. Relative to other foreigners, that's amazing. You could count on one hand the number of non-Korean players who could seriously compete in Code S.

Loses game 2 after bad micro on his side when Tarson does a hellions into banshee push, actually losing his queens to hellions and a banshee arrives. Game 3 was 2rax double bunker rush, he manages to surround, but mis-targets the last scv which completes the bunker.

It doesn't even mean that he played better in those games, although I think it's fair to say that he did. Being the better player has nothing to do with previous results, it's about how well a person can actually play the game. It would be better summarized as the likelihood of IdrA winning against Tarson. Even if you were to go by record, it's ridiculous to say that Tarson is simply the better player because he won the more recent (by a few hours) of five games, when he still won the minority of them.

Game 1 was really embarrassing macro game stomp, in which Tarson thought 2 thors (4 total), no marines, would be enough to defend against 20ish mutas Game 2 Idra lost an overlord early to a marine, guessed hellion count wrong and mismicroed lings a bit and died to those hellions + banshee Game 3 idra went really late pool and mishandled 2 rax bunker rush and lost

You might notice that MC performs ceremonies out of joy when he wins, and all the controversies about manner that Idra creates are when he loses. This post is 100% right. That's exactly why I like MC and don't like Idra.
