Also, YAY HUK!!! HuK is one of my favorite players and I'm SO glad he finally took down another big tournament. I knew you had it in you, HuK! Bring on Code S! HuK/Liquid/Foeigners FIGHTING!!
You guys are retarded. Day9 specifically matched the volume of his voice when he was saying 6 pool to the way he introduced Huk. If anyone heard anything Day9 raising his voice and the crows cheering would sound exactly like the same thing that had happened at the beginning of every single game.
And please, for the love of all that is holy, stop cheapening people's wins. Every single tournament people come in here and talk about how the guy that won it didn't deserve it. The guy you liked didn't win. Big deal, get over it, and stop trying to take an amazing tournament performance away from Huk.
The dude went 10-1 in group play and didn't drop a single game in the playoffs. He beat Moon twice, and destroyed July zerg. He beat people in short games and long games, TvZ, TvP and even PvP which was his weak point against a monster PvP'er like Socke. He defended cheeses and punished greedy builds, he did his own cheeses and aggressive expands, and he won numerous long games and showed incredible poise and late game understanding and strategy.
I have a feeling that Huk could've beat Nestea and MvP as well in this tourney and it still wouldn't have mattered (in fact he's beaten both in long games, go look for the replays). People just don't like giving credit where credit is due. Huk pulled a Naniwa and dominated. Good for him.
Of course for the people that watch his stream this wasn't a surprise. The only unexpected part was that he kept control of his nerves and played at the same level we are used to seeing from him on his stream.

Well, it takes both skill AND luck for anyone to win a tournament. You don't only need to be good, but the brackets need to favor you as well. Huk avoided the opponents that would be most dangerous to him (MC, Bomber). This doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to win - any tournament winner has some degree of luck in how the brackets turn out in their favor.
TL hasn't been in such a congratulatory mood since FruitDealer won the GSL.
FD winning when other zergs were being shut down ... HuK winning 1st place when other foreigners were being shut out of the podium. I think HuK's win has more significance considering the recent drought.

Nice post, you put it very well. Huk made a lot of diverse plays, against diverse opponents. Even without looking at the result, just watching his ingame gameplay showed that he played very, very well.
So proud of HuK - one of my favorite players!! Just watched the VOD's from Day9 at work and was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Great tourny, great casting, and great games. GG HuK!!!

The interview will probably be included at the end of the finals vod, which isn't up yet due to unspecified problems.
Edit: SVT just said the interview might not be up until tomorrow.
just re-watched all of huk's games. this dude knows how to play, i learned so many things simply watching him. very well-deserved win huk congratulations
oh the last two games huk really was lucky in my opinion, but luck is part of the game and just another form of skill. But even though he was a bit lucky with his probe scout, that wasn't a guaranteed win because of luck. Mind games cost a bit and if your opponent doesn't fall for it you are behind.
Any so happy for Huk ! well deserved and so epic moves throughout the whole tournament ! And now even evolved to dream huk ! Go go teamliquid ! go huk !
Awesome results. Gratz to Huk on a huge tournament win. I didn't think avoiding the 1-2-3 was possible after I saw the final 8 players last night but this is a nice surprise.
Moon and Huk both very underrated. At least there is some evidence now to show people to help prove this.
Just curious, since it's not mentioned in the op: Are the replays available anywhere yet? If not, will they become available at some point in the near future?

Your up 2-1, on the verge of a major tournament victory, the two games you've won this series were longer macro oriented games, and you decide ALL-Inning the last two games is the correct course of action. I cannot help but believe Moon is face palming after that. Reminded me of Idra vs MC at last MLG.
When the pressure is on, there's a tendency to want to get it over with, going All-In ends the pressure. Didn't think Moon with all his experience would crack like that. But, he did.
Congratulations to Huk, bringing it home for the Foreign community who didn't want another top-3 Korean finish to prove how inferior we are at starcraft. Good job man.
