It just doesn't make sense when there are other much more obvious much more feasible explanations for Korean dominance to point to IQ of all things. Team houses, practise regiments, SK starcraft culture, work ethic.

I guess when Jinro made it into the semis of the GSL twice it's because being in Korea gave him magic brain powers? Yeah that's probably it.

so sad for naniwa currently there are no foreigners able to compete with the koreans, i dont get why .

and that's exactly what's happening

No offense but that's a pretty stupid comment from Torch. Interacting with the community doesn't make you a worse gamer by any means. Korean dominance has more do to with the (politically incorrect) fact that the average intelligence is higher in Korea and in East Asia in general, and that is also the reason China is pumping out millions of engineers and scientists, and Japan is a leader in hi-tech industries.

And that's a big part of the reason why we see Koreans dominating these competitions.

Where did you get that chart? Stormfront? Keep your racist shit outta here.

Oh and if players were top smart they would not be gamers but surgeons and scientists.

No, this picture is from Wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IQ_and_Global_Inequality

But I think it says a lot about you, that you think it's from Stormfront.

And regarding you last statement - I am both a doctor (med student) and a gamer. That may be anecdotal, but I'm pretty sure all pro SC2 gamers are high-IQ individuals. Idra, for example, has said he is going to study physics after SC2.

What do you say to that kind of argument? I guess nothing would be the best choice.

Let me count the number of world class asian chess players really quick... oh, that didn't take long. Maybe culture has a little to do with it in the end, but I don't know, my IQ is only western european.
What about Shogi? That's like a more complicated version of chess with capturable pieces included and more board room...

That's exactly the point. Culture matters. Noone in germany is playing this Shogi game, and if we would start right now with a billion euro programm to support it, we still won't have the best players in five years time. The US still has not many world class soccer players, good american football players outside of the US are nearly non-existent.

Korea has a ten year head start in StarCraft infrastructure. That is not going away within one year.

As others have pointed out, average IQ is completely meaningless here, since the best of the best are outliners anyway. It's a numbers and infrastructure game.
Why would I be offended that asian IQ is higher than european IQ on average? I am not the average and I am not proud to be a caucasian white male, I just happen to be one.

LOOOLOLOL

all those progamers have low IQ otherwise they would be engineers, so the theory is wrong.

Who does Moon train with? Anyone know?
Lee Jae Dong proved that a focus on mechanics and execution could solve problems in the StarCraft game strategy.
