Sadly it seems I have to put this up yet again. Any of the following types of posts will be met with immediate bans:

Imbalance whine/Player bashing/Caster bashing/Stream complaining/Off topic arguing.

Stick to the games and enjoy the event and its free services and coverage.

Here's a question. Take the Koreans out of the scene for a moment and shove in the top foreigners (Idra, Thorzain etc).

We ended up with a huge number of toss reaching the final 16. Remove the ridiculously good Korean terrans and zergs from the mix. Do you think we'd have the same rate of attrition in toss towards the finals?

Really? Just because you don't agree when Bo5/Bo7 start it's a 'shit tournament?'

Just to make everything clear; are you admins going to take action against PraetorianX or can I start quoting Stormfront in future LR threads? I mean if you don't actually remove those offenders from this community they will continue with their garbage in the next threads.

Uh the reason IQs in africa are so low has nothing to do with Africans being dumber and everything to do with IQ tests being culturally skewed towards a western idea of intelligence. IQ does not equal general intelligence, there is a correlation but it's certainly not a true indicator of intelligence

so thats why asia has the highest iq ;s?

Asia is certainly beating the west at its own game and has been for the past few decades. (If we're talking reasons, primary one is probably education, education in the US for example for the average citizen is fairly sub-par). The US has a pretty deep seed of anti-intellectualism in a lot of its political thought, intelligence isn't really valued here like it is in Asian countries. I don't know enough about europe to say.

as far as I know, IQ is hereditary and has nothing to do with quality of education??

Your are dead wrong, IQ scores have been shown to get better with specific kind of education or having a go at various tests. And average IQ is definetely meaningless with respect to SC.

so sad for naniwa currently there are no foreigners able to compete with the koreans, i dont get why .
i mean torch said somethign very smart about it: foreigner pros are interacting a lot with the comunity and not focusing nearly enough on the game, on the long term we're going to see the koreans dominating once again if the trend doesnt change.
and that's exactly what's happening

No offense but that's a pretty stupid comment from Torch. Interacting with the community doesn't make you a worse gamer by any means. Korean dominance has more do to with the (politically incorrect) fact that the average intelligence is higher in Korea and in East Asia in general, and that is also the reason China is pumping out millions of engineers and scientists, and Japan is a leader in hi-tech industries.

And that's a big part of the reason why we see Koreans dominating these competitions.

I'm really interested to see greenlanders play starcraft.

The picture made its rounds on reddit a few weeks ago, the majority pointed out it's inaccuracy: Look at North Korea.

That is incorrect. The majority tried to come up with explanations why this would be inaccurate, but no criticism would stick. Richard Lynn has spend whole books countering the arguments you are referring to, and he has done so well. Regarding the North Korean datapoint - it is based on a (relatively small) number of North Korean refugees in South Korea. Many other countries' datapoints are also based on small sample sizes. This is, however, irrelevant. Many studies have found the same broader pattern to be true, regardless of small variations in average IQ as a result of small sample size in some datapoints.
so you really think the main reasons koreans are dominating sc2 is because of their superior intelligent?
im not going into the debate about how true that diagram is

Yes, I think Korean dominance is a combination of both Korean culture and Korean intelligence. And judging from the reaction here on TL, that is a very controversial opinion.

I didn't really think it was off-topic, since the Koreans are obviously dominating Dreamhack (see the connection?), but since the mods say so... I will say no more of it. Let the semi-finals begin! Gogo Huk!

How'd Moon ravish and sodomize Naniwa so hard with the 2-0 anyways? Were they long or short games?

wow really? the tournament has been pretty good overall, and i don't think adding 1 or 2 games to each series would make it any better or worse. the only complaint i have is keeping track of which streams are up at what times and all the downtime between matches.

Has HuK had to play any strong Zergs on his way here? I can't remember how he fared against them in group play. Glad he got past PvP though. Also wow that we started the Ro8 with so many toss and now we are down to 1! I think it just shows how balanced this game really is.
