The qualifier is also a invitational, to quote the OP:
In this event we see 32 players invited to a single elimination qualifier

If you haven´t heard of it yet I guess you are not invited

Not necessarily. FXO most likely send out invites in stages. As long as the list hasn't filled up, his only option is to wait and see.

Looking at the date, I imagine the guys going to Dreamhack won't be available to participate? That'd be a shame... But, a sick lineup already.

That's right, unfortunately the DreamHack guys can't make it.

However, I'll announce now that the 3rd of 4 invites to the top 16 is EG's IdrA.

Hope Select wins, he's always either

a) eliminated early by a good opponent
b) 2nd/3rd/ place

He's been in kinda a slump too ):.

Just curious, why are Moonglade and KiLLeR playing in the NA qualifiers? Weren't they invited to their own respective regionals?

There is no SEA Qualifier as honestly there is not enough to fill a 16 man bracket who could compete in the finals. So Glade is playing in NA as he always does. Not sure about killer though, i will get an answer from Del and get back to you.

It is a shame that destiny has to face Major early, he is such a good terran, and i really would like to see destiny go further, but i think if he does not get muta out he does not stand a chance.

you must not have watched the game closely enough, 20 marines isn't his whole army which losing 20 marines and making 10 infestors useless while 2 had energy is definitely worth the sacrifice lol.

Having no Mutas definitely hurts against aggro dropers like Maj0r when going for the heavy Infestor play.

Well terrans should be dropping alot vs mass infestors, its why I prefer muta/ling/bane :D.

Also is it just me or is the stream laggy a bit? Even on lowest still have same laggy/jerkyness.

Great games, but I'm not too fond of the caster's bias towards Destiny.

Ya, I'm getting the lag too. Slight 1 second pauses on every quality.
Stay gold.

Stream lags bad during battles. Mods claiming it's viewer's or JTV's fault, clearly not when everyone else is lagging too (from chat). And when we suggest the streamer to adjust stream settings/fix lag we get banned, lol what a joke. Good tourney, shitty stream.

ok yeah same with me and a friend of mine are having it but this reinforces my belief that its the stream not our fault considering even lowest won't fix it but I can watch other 1080p streams fine.

The lag is not our fault. It definitely is coming from the broadcaster, and not on our end. The entire chat and others are having the same problem. Changing quality does not fix either.

Well, when you have THAT much they're basically never out of steam ^^
But you still need units, even when you can fungal the whole map.

It's not exactly lag it's skips, and as other JTV streams I'm watching at the same time are clean, a good possibility is the encoding settings are not good or the computer can't handle the encoding (frames drops are typical of that)

like everyone is, but for some reason they say its our fault its happening. When as many people are having lag problems as they are its the broadcaster not the users, especially if you go lower quality, even lowest and still having issues.

I highly suggest you guys just don't bother streaming these things until you can settle the lag issues. Without a stable stream even if it's low quality, you just frustrate everyone involved. It just hurts your brand and I've loved the previous FXO Invitationals and wish they had more exposure.

Ads run fine (which are not JTV ads), when nothing is happening its fine, when shit happens in lags like hell. And mods in the chat is raging at viewers who joins chat and asks if it lags for anyone else. Maybe they should recheck their priorities and really ask why it's lagging and not blame it on some generic routing problem.

Raging and banning viewers, which you are aiming to get more of, probably isnt a good idea. What do you expect in a chat room of a stream with 3.5k viewers? Full control?

yup this. When so many people are complaining about lag and the mods are just banning them saying its their fault. Thats a problem the mods should tell the caster or something not just ban them and act like its only the viewers fault considering I imagine most if not all viewers are seeing it.

Was well played by vibe, although I feel he almost threw the game away though to as honestly that third should never have gotten up. vibe almost let kiwi get back into it but luckily was able to pull it through ^^.

The caster is praising Vibe, he should be praising Kiwi, can't believe how well he played despite the loss. Too bad he took his 3rd way too late, he could even have taken the gold during his long push.

I think the fourth base did kill him, but it being hidden did not matter too much. I think if he needed to, that vibe would have been able to secure a know expansion and held if with out too much trouble. I was surprised at how long it took to finish kiwi off. He is such a fighter.

As for final results, wouldn't it be something to see Major/Terran vs Vibe. It would make a lot more people stand up and take notice of SixJax, that's for sure.....

Yep. I didn't mean Vibe didn't earned the praise too But I hadn't seen Kiwi play for a very long time, and this game all his decisions were very solid, added to his micro.

The positives to the tournament:
>The caster is quite good
>The games have been at least decent (enjoying Kiwi vs Vibe a lot)

The negatives:
> Very laggy stream (not fixable right now)
> Extremely controlling mods in the chat (Apparently they have no idea what a troll is. They say stop complaining about lag or they'll lock chat, and expect no one to complain about lag. 2 people say lag, they lock chat and treat everyone like children.)

Pretty disappointing really; it's nice to be able to talk about the game, but it's literally (chat is locked) impossible to do so on the stream. Meh.

Didn't lag for me at all that last game. Was a pretty fun game once it came down to a base trade situation. Feel bad for KiWiKaKi though..didn't seem to play all that well in game 2.

Seems zergs have figured out they can just take a third whenever they want as long as they can hold off 6 gate pressure since there are no other timings for attack, then they just carry too big of a midgame advantage for the protoss to do anything.

Anywy, that was pretty well played by Perfect.

Well tosses were winning with 6 gate and stuff for so long that zergs have figured out the timings of taking that third and getting drones then making units.

protoss players need to just stop doing that 6 gate its figured out now by top zergs from observing and playing.

In which case you are unable to put on any pressure and are far behind in the midgame due to zerg's macro mechanic. I'm interested to see what will happen to the metagame to even this out, it seems like a huge problem for terran as well. Unfortunately protoss has much less versatile timings than terran to do anything.

Poor protosses, I think I haven't seen a P winning vs a Z in any tourney I watched for like 2 or 3 weeks :D (Since MLG)

Seems zergs have figured out they can just take a third whenever they want as long as they can hold off 6 gate pressure since there are no other timings for attack, then they just carry too big of a midgame advantage for the protoss to do anything.

Unfortunately protoss has much less versatile timings than terran to do anything.

oh tvz's fine, all recent results and terrans are still doing very well vs zerg. So far the only tournament where terrans did "bad" was the last MLG which a terran still won. As for zvp, protosses will figure something out they will go through a tough time for a little bit but they will work something out as toss does have a lot of options.

Ok so 6gate is the only pressure you can do? Ever heard of stargates for example?

Ever seen stargates getting shut down completely by some queens and spores? MC went stargate against IdrA who already had a third down, had one queen there, saw it like ten seconds before it came, put down two spore crawlers and was infinitely ahead. Stargate is extremely hard to come ahead with, hard to secure a third after, and the response to stargate play is to hardcore drone anyway because no pressure will come afterward.

lol anyway, back to the game discussion. the early ghost play a lot of people doing is interesting, MKP showed it's quite powerful against anything but very early colossi.

Major vs Perfect Game 1 Summary:
Major opens 3rax no gas. Perfect goes 1gate core expo. Major pushes with rines, few scvs - set's up bunker and takes out Perfect expo. Perfect was supply blocked as Major moved out, and though he lost expo, Major doesn't push up Perfect's ramp that was guarded by only 1stalker 1 sentry (to Majors ~10 rines, few scvs). Major then salvages bunker and goes home. Perfect going into 4 gate.

Major builds another CC in base during this, takes double gas, and put's addon's on a rax. Start's stim. However because stim started so late and take's forever, unless Perfect decides to wait for arbiters (yeah, intentional) to attack, stim won't be done.

Major sets up 2 bunkers at his expo but doesn't have a lot of units (didn't add on beyond his 3 rax, set up addons), and loses to Perfects extremely zealot heavy 4gate. Decent FF cut's off repair to one bunker, Major has time to set up 3rd bunker, it also goes down. Perfect walks up Major's ramp.
Overall Major teched up too fast - should have gone Korean terran style of adding on mass rax I think with may one only 1 tech lab. Go onto ~5rax? Frustrating game to see Major get so far ahead and still lose.

Perfect hit good timing in that Major's expo advantage had not kicked in at all. Perfect ends game with ~1k more resources; not quite sure how.
RIP GOMTV. RIP PROLEAGUE.

3 Sixjax qualified/4 spots. This team is good, and I noticed that a lot of semi-unknown teams, of who I see those threads in general "Team xxx launched" or "xxx unknow recruited by...", most of the time I don't know the player or even the team, and more often than not when I see those players playing I'm impressed (this sentence is awful but I have a hard time expressing what I meant properly ><). Like VT for instance.

As much as I enjoyed Perfect's sorta perfect play, I'm a huge fan of major's. Happy to see him take it home along with his teammates. Grats jax

Pretty disappointing really; it's nice to be able to talk about the game, but it's literally (chat is locked) impossible to do so on the stream. Meh.

I do appreciate the constructive feedback. as far as I am aware they locked chat because it was impossible to actually talk about the game with the spam. it was unlocked 5 ish minutes later and settled down a lot. From my end i was aware of the issues but I do not know the underlying cause of the FPS lag at this stage. as the stream worked fine in tests right before the broadcast. I am actually investigating it now
