We will be moderating harshly in this thread. Think twice before you post. Things we are watching for: image macros, balance whining, "eagles", player bashing etc. We encourage civil and reasoned critique of our moderation - please post it in the website feedback forum.

Please don't complain about MLG stream quality or MLG itself. They work very hard to provide you with an enjoyable service.

Enough with the racism discussions, this is a LR Thread. Cut it out.

Well at least we known the op is an Idra fanboy.

Ret has a pretty easy route to go until he has the meet MC or July.

Haypro actually has a pretty good shot. Chances are he'll be playing ZvZ against Vibe or Ret with an outside chance of ZvT against major. We've already seen that Haypros vZ is pretty good via his Losira games so (as much as I love ret) haypro has a good shot against ret/vibe (although, should probably converse with morrow about it). Major he is already 2-1 up, so that should be easier for him as well.
Yup, Hayder is in great shape to finish in the top 6. Got to give the fella props where its due.
Yeah I expect whoever comes out of the liquid gauntlet will end up top 6 minimum

I'm really happy with the tournament so far

I can even get along with the double elim + carrying over the score

but the way seeded players have A HUGE advantage over those from the open pool ... It just allows mediocre and even plain bad players to finish in spots they don't deserve, diminishing the results of those that have really worked hard and are up-and-coming.

Like MC said, GSL allows you to place highly just by thinking about good strategies (if you're in Code S you have to win 5 times to take the trophy), while tournaments like MLG force out the players that don't have the RTS basics to compete (that is unless you're seeded ......)

are there the throzain vs mc replays??? Cant find them on the brackets.

If you can't find them on the brackets, I guess they won't be there. The Bracket Page so far is the only source for MLG replays.

I've checked if the pack is up to date and, no there aren't for now. The pack is compiled from MLG website, so if there are none, it will not contain them unfortunately. I am not proficient enough to retrieve non existing ones

there are replays from the mc vs thorzain match here:

Im sort of glad TLO dropped out of the groups, he is just not good enough right now, he was in the easiest group and he just bombed. I like TLO but he just doesn't deserve a spot, I hope to see him stomping his way through the open bracket next MLG, I have faith that the team house will work well for him in the next few months. He needs to put his head down and practice hard.

If i'm not wrong he said he probably won't be able to train for a while in the near future though because his injury is getting very bad. So that's probably not gonna happen.

Do we know how the next MLG will handle koreans? Will they invite other ones and keep these on rankings?

Idra fighting! MMA is an incredibly tough opponent, but I believe, Idra has a good chance at this. I would also like to see Thorzain do well.

My thoughts on the seeding and the advantage of the pool players from the open bracket.

I guess the system is fine but for those who will finish 4th place and above ... I wouldn't really give them "they 4th finish" but rather the "they are seeded 4th for the next MLG". A little subtle difference but that's just for my anal brain =P

TvZ seems to be Major's weak match-up though.

Thanks, such a confusing system. Wish they'd just do it like the CL, pool play to seed then straight up knockout.

this ones complicated, but it works really well imo. just hard to understand, once you get it, its really good.

I love the format. Sure, it's confusing but it takes like 5 minutes to understand if you actually give it a try. The only downside is that it's absolutely brutal on the players but as a spectator it's just perfect.

why? sure they had less games, but in theory they had much harder opponents, just look at the players they faced

I don't like the way they seed the players into the bracket, it seems like they simply lump 2 groups together. Thorzain for example has to play MC again very soon if he manages to get this far, which will be an almost impossible task given the nature of the extended series. They should mix it up a little more.

Correction, TvZ is everyones weakest matchup apart from the top 20 korean terrans and thorzain
