We will be moderating harshly in this thread. Think twice before you post. Things we are watching for: image macros, balance whining, "eagles", player bashing etc. We encourage civil and reasoned critique of our moderation - please post it in the website feedback forum. Please don't complain about MLG stream quality or MLG itself. They work very hard to provide you with an enjoyable service. Enough with the racism discussions, this is a LR Thread. Cut it out. -- updated 7:55 KST

I don't want segregation, if they wanna pay their own way I welcome the competition. I don't feel like we should pay them to come kill our scene.

He went for a really risky opener and managed to come back from being busted and having lings in his main and nat a few times. They will just dominate everything, the scene will get stagnant and boring, and that will be it. That is a terrible attitude. Every time we have an event with Koreans like this the foreigners get better, give it time. Also having Koreans owning is good for the general narrative, it will be more awesome when foreigners start winning. I'm actually happy that Koreans are owning, it means the game is good and practice matters. Never happened with Starcraft 1, I don't think it will happen here. Korea is already ahead of the rest of the world, and it will just get worse. We shall see, but I put all my money on the US and EU scenes drying up if Koreans continue to be invited and dominate western tournaments. Boohoo, can't compete so give up right? It's a practice and drive mentality and if the gap isn't closed then so be it. i recommend you not to talk to that guy with loser attitude xD I dont know aparantly he was around since the beginning when there where many SC tourny's with 10s of thousands of viewers in the west and then the Koreans killed it (some people are stupid)

Most western viewers like to watch the best players play. Just because you don't care or haven't heard of the best players in the world doesn't mean the rest of us haven't. But yes I agree MLG is for foreigners Koreans should join the open bracket like everybody else.

On June 06 2011 06:59 YodaGoneMad wrote: Man, this thread is slowing down fast since all the westerners are eliminated. Guess I wasn't the only one that doesn't care about the results of a bunch of random koreans. What? Are you implying games aren't worth watching just because of the players' nationality? They aren't "random Koreans" either. So stupid.... Don't reply to these comments.. people watch games for different reasons. I do because I love starcraft, which means I'll be happy to watch koreans at the top if they are truly the best. Other people watch for the hype, and they feel more excited when their homies play. I understand the feelings of many people, although I feel that shouldn't make them miss quality starcraft games. There is no shortage of quality games, what makes MLG and other tournaments special to me is cheering for personalities I know. Just having random amazing players, that don't speak the language, that are not involved in the western scene (don't stream, don't go on shows, don't contribute) I just don't care about their results. A korean wins, which one? I certainly don't care, in fact, koreans will take home all the big money, because they are top 3. bitter foreigner much? you're a fucking racist. he absolutely is. It's not racist to only be interested in watching players you know. I don't care about watching barcelona vs real madrid in the champions league, but as soon as a british team's involved I will watch! No he is racist. If Koreans were considered a "white race" he'd have no problem with it. His whining comes down to racist under the guise of all his other bullshit he's spouting. Oh and also players he knows? this is a global game, anybody who follows sc2, knows alot of korean players. please. It's not racist, I care much less for the Koreans, not because they are Koreans but because they don't participate in any tournaments I watch. This means that I neither love not hate them and thus their games become boring to watch, no emotions at all from my side. I am unfortunately not a big enough Starcraft fan to watch games just because the player who plays them is good, I'm mostly watching for excitement. You Sir should get a GSL ticket. Quite frankly I love seeing a foreigner do well just because I root for the underdogs but if you are going to watch just 1 tournament, the GSL/GSTL is both the highest level and one of (if not the) best organized/casted/supported. It is a little unfortunate there isn't just one foreigner left to cheer for but given the level these players have displayed both in knocking out the top competition and now against each other I really don't think they deserve any bashing whatsoever. As an aside it will be interesting to see how FXO improves when they move to Korea, after all it's one of the big reasons behind Idra being so good. And we all know Sheth is a much more level headed person with some serious talent ... waiting to see how that develops.
