Hey just got home and looking at the situation for the Weekly #1 and who qualifies.
Ok so when I do seeding for the finals, there is two ways to qualify. First and foremost I do the seedings at the end of the month, to prevent one guy from getting multiple invites.
1: Take a Top 2 spot in the weekly. 1st place gets first seed in the groups, 2nd place gets the second (original, I know..)
If you already did take Top 2 in previous week the person that has the highest ELO from that weekly that is not qualified takes the spot. This never actually happened in the first 4 weeks, so the 8 auto qualifiers are as follows:
Week 11 - TSL.aLive 2 - NsHS.Tassadar Week 21 - TSL.Puma 2 - ZeNEX.Puzzle Week 31 - ZeNEX.TanDongHo 2 - ZeNEX.Byun Week 41 - TSL.JYP 2 - ZeNEX.Life
The second method of qualifying is ELO based. I was aware there may be an issue that pops up with the 3rd/4th place player getting a ton of walkovers and winning less games then someone eliminated in the Round of 8 (this week is the perfect example with ZeNEX.Hack who made the semi-finals by only 2-0'ing CheckPrime).
So thanks to TLPD we are able to use the ELO for JUST THAT EVENT. Which is so helpful. So what we do is look at the 8 auto-qualifiers and instantly remove them from the ELO invites. After that the 2 players with the highest ELO for that event are picked for the remaining two spots.
This goes as follows:
Week 1 TSL.aLive - 2174 pts - Already Qualified ST.Curious - 2080 pts NsHS.Tassadar - 2052 pts - Already Qualified Liquid`HuK - 2033 pts TSL.Puma - 2021 pts - Already Qualified SlayerS.Taeja - 2015 pts So for Week 1 the qualifiers are ST.Curious, and Liquid`HuK who was only 18 points ahead of Taeja. If Taeja had played his 3rd/4th place instead of forfeiting it, it is very likely even without winning the set he would have qualified. This method was explained to Cella personally (whom is a great friend of mine), so it is not a lack of understanding. ST.Curious and Liquid`HuK qualify for the monthly finalsWeek 2 TSL.Puma - 2172 pts - Already Qualified NsHS.San - 2047 pts ZeNEX.Puzzle - Already Qualified NsHS.Sage - 2020 pts NsHS.San and NsHS.Sage qualify for the monthly finalsWeek 3 ZeNEX.Tandongho - 2126 pts - Already Qualified TSL.Puma - 2111 pts - Already Qualified ZeNEX.Byun - 2083 pts - Already Qualified TSL.aLive - 2031 pts - Already Qualified NsHS.Sage - 2021 pts - Already Qualified IM.YongHwa - 2019 pts ZeNEX.Core - 2015 pts ZeNEX.cOre and IM.YongHwa qualify for the monthly finalsWeek 4Results not in yet. So this leaves the current player pool as: 1st seeds TSL.aLive - ![[image loading]](http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/images2/6/6c/Sicon.png) TSL.Puma ZeNEX.Tandongho TSL.JYP 2nd Seeds NsHS.Tassadar - ![[image loading]](http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/images2/8/88/Aicon.png) ZeNEX.Puzzle - ![[image loading]](http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/images2/8/88/Aicon.png) ZeNEX.Byun - ![[image loading]](http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/images2/6/6c/Sicon.png) ZeNEX.Life 3rd/4th seeds ST.Curious Liquid`HuK - ![[image loading]](http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/images2/6/6c/Sicon.png) NsHS.San NsHS.Sage ZeNEX.cOre IM.YongHwa TBA TBA
I hope this clears some stuff up, if not let me know and I'll be happy to explain (or fix a mistake if I made one)!
I will post info about the format soon, I like your guys suggestions however!

Ah there we go! That makes a ton of sense. Thanks for clearing it up. Monthly finals should be awesome :D

I'm glad someone asked, because I might have incorrectly invited Killer. I didn't know TLPD does not sort the game stuff by ELO by default. Killer was one point less then cOre.
Also just want to say again this is qualified, not confirmed so the playerlist may change, although I seriously doubt it will be much. Also I'm going to get 4 back ups for the tournament (the next highest ranked on ELO each week, 1 per week) so hopefully if someone misses or can't make it, we will still have a great player.
Right now that involves: SlayerS.Taeja Jjakji Killer TBA
Edit: I guess I better be crystal clear. We are 100% doing the groupstages into 8 man bracket format.
At the moment I am looking to do all BO3 in the groupstages and BO3 > BO5 > BO7 in the bracket.
Group A:1 - TSL.aLive - ![[image loading]](http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/images2/6/6c/Sicon.png) 2 - ZeNEX.Life 3 - TBA 4 - TBA Group B:1 - TSL.Puma 2 - ZeNEX.Byun - ![[image loading]](http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/images2/6/6c/Sicon.png) 3 - TBA 4 - TBA Group C:1 - ZeNEX.Tandongho 2 - ZeNEX.Puzzle - ![[image loading]](http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/images2/8/88/Aicon.png) 3 - TBA 4 - TBA Group D:1 - TSL.JYP 2 - NsHS.Tassadar - ![[image loading]](http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/images2/8/88/Aicon.png) 3 - TBA 4 - TBA Players that can be picked ST.Curious Liquid`HuK - ![[image loading]](http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/images2/6/6c/Sicon.png) NsHS.San NsHS.Sage ZeNEX.cOre IM.YongHwa TBA TBA Backups SlayerS.Taeja NsHS.Jjakji Killer TBA Match OrderG1: 1 vs 4 G2: 2 vs 3 G3: Winner 1 vs Winner 2 G4: Loser 1 vs Loser 2 G5: Loser 3 vs Winner 4 Winner 3 is the 1st seed and winner of 5 is the 2nd seed.
Edit 2: I'm actually to see how these group picks go. TSL holds A LOT of the power here, should be interesting to see what strategies they use in the picking phase.

By the way, " ZeNEX.Life" is actually ZeNEX.Line , known for old school mutaling with no banelings. Oops sorry, Life =/= Line; Thanks!

Life and Line are 2 different players from zenex.

Life and Line are different players, Line got knocked out by ClassicPrime while Life made it to the finals.

does anyone know the times that Sage's games start in the vods? I cant seem to find what day/week he played.

TT why did the last game on Ithaca have to be so short...
I don't even like concept of Starlight Breaker now, the third seems kinda stupid :/ Hope it's gone next time^^
Other than that great event again, much love for iCCup <3

It happens, sucks when it does though. However don't be too quick to dismiss it for that game, I remember a decent amount of 25+ minute epic games on it too.

Sweet. Went with the GSL system. Best way to go IMO.
Any chance to get replays for the weeklys? Even just for the non-broadcasted matches would be awesome.

Replays should be up tomorrow (Thursday) for Weeks 3 and 4.

2 - NsHS.Puzzle -
I wish NsHs had puzzle, They'd be one of the strongest protoss teams around then lol.
Edit: Changing it won't help you now
|
Have the replays from week 4 been released yet?

You want to do a favor to everyone and keep Ithaca on the map pool , its just too good to get rid of.
|
Wow, Protoss the majority and Terran the minority. Bizarro Korea.

Why?

Stargate play is extremely powerful. It is very difficult for a zerg to double expand in response to a quick protoss expand. There is just no time to react to the void rays.
And suppose a zerg does manage to take it, it then becomes extremely difficult for a protoss to take their third. It is so wide open that no amount of forcefields could defend it.
The rush distance is also fairly short (very similar to GSL dual sight) which will make terran 2 rax all-ins extremely powerful.
Of course there isn't any data to support what I'm saying. We haven't seen enough games on it yet. This is just what I think will happen. It just doesn't seem like you could get a lot of solid late game situations out of it. Basically, it is an extremely volatile map. I see the majority of games ending at the 2 base stage.
