well i doubt its really like that. Usually the WCG has partners in each country. There is an affiliation fee, and you are allowed to send a Cs team and as much as 3 players for each game if you can sponsor as many flights, hotels etc. i dont know whether the affiliation tax depends on how many you send or not, so probably that is why we are seeing 1 swede, instead of 3(with col paying for nani and mouz for thorzain for instance).

Anyways in many countries there arent enough funds to send all the players, and they choose how many to send and at what games, depending on the leftover money i guess. So prolly this is why it aint easy, as there seems to be no clear idea of the affiliation tax, the relationship between the WCG and the orgas in each country and so on.

What's the prizepool for this event?

I feel that this will be one of the major deciders whether this can be called a major SC2 event or not.

This tournament seems to be very poorly organized and funded. Furthermore Korea seems to the be sending some of its finest players, while the other nations are sending a lot of people I've never heard of.

I don't necessarily agree with that, many national qualifiers were done well and the grand finals will likely be presented well, though, as someone in the thread pointed out, it will almost certainly not live up to the new standards of coverage events this year have achieved. As for the unknowns, using Panama as an example, NrGCocoA is a much better known player than Souke but Souke beat him in the finals, with the exception of the EG kids, almost everyone else had to go through a qualifier.

money, any nation may send up to 3 players

That is the maximum amount of players allowed to compete in any one title from any one nation.

Maybe Nani, Sase could get it financed by their teams like Huk/Idra since they are in Korea anyways.

Sweden is sending 2 players

So, is it almost time for a meetup thread? I'll probably make one in a week unless someone more familiar with Busan would like to. I've been a few times but I don't live there.

Edit: OH Shit... it's at Centum City. I know I'm going to SpaLand every single night! That place is AMAZING.

Hmm won't IdrA + huk both be in Korea right before this, so the plane ticket won't be as steep?

Group G looks really tough, every other group seems to have 2 or 3 clear favouriotes, but group G has a few players who could take it.
