And the community raised money for the Canada WCG tourney to send two players, Kiwikaki and Huk. Thats my understanding of the situation, I could be wrong.

I think the reason people are a little upset is that KiWiKaKi won the WCG Canada online tournament and although HuK did sign up for it, he did not compete, TD.Attero came second and is not competing in the finals. I suspect the following happened: as Canada has no organizer this year, a previous organizer was able to secure us with a special status at WCG meaning that we could send up to 3 SC2 players and their tournament entries would be waved, we would only have to pay for their flight. USA has no such status and thus the players must pay an entry fee, because HuK has dual citizenship, EG may have worked out a deal for him to represent Canada instead so they wouldn't have to pay the tournament entry fee (which is very expensive). That's my speculation. For me, I'm just happy to see HuK competing, it doesn't matter to me which flag he has beside his name.

Usually, WCG sets these tournaments up in order to see who will get a free trip to the finals. But seeing as we have people that don't know what they're doing in WCG USA, clearly they never got the sponsors to pay up.

WCG USA had sponsor issues and couldn't raise any money. WCG Can could only raise enough money to send 1 player (kiwikaki as he won the WCG Canada qualifier). However, each nation is allowed to send 3 players. IdrA will represent WCG USA with EG footing the bill (including the $1.5k registration fee). Huk will go as Canada's second player. Attero is not being screwed here. EG is paying for Huk. If anyone else from Canada wants to go they have to be willing to pay the bill (or the US for that matter). If Huk doesn't go for Canada, kiwi is going to be the only representative. Also, I'm not 100% sure EG is paying the registration fee. But I know for sure WCG Canada and WCG USA aren't (they have no money). So the only option is EG paying or WCG waiving the fee (very unlikely as every other nation would get pissed).
