Thorzain will ever be the underdog. That's because how he looks.

Very entertaining series, but really bad execution by both, constantly losing dropships, banshees, mis-micro all over the place, weird build orders and sub-par execution.

Really no comparison to something like Bomber vs Mvp.

Between that game and nestea vs sc yesterday, I think it's safe to say that it's been a good weekend for starcraft.

I think everyone can agree that compared to nestea vs sc's final match this g5 fades into oblivion.

These european Terrans are off the charts good. Even more impressive than MVP or Bomber imo.

Yeah, it sucks that that's the case, because PvP is yawntastic. Even Naniwa and HasuObs can't save us from the boredom of having to watch two players follow the same tech tree.

On top of which they were showing his win percentages, too - about 70% vP and vZ, just below 50% vT.

If someone said Thorzain would be in the TSL3 finals even a month ago I'd have smacked him into a lava pit on Dual Sight. Then throw his charred body off the top of Metalopolis. Then put his head on top of a watchtower and feed what's left to the Sarlacc that surely resides in the Xelnaga cavern.

What a run, now I'm rooting for him in the finals.

If you beat MC in a tvp you have to be favourit in a final vs a toss. Even if Naniwa is a monster.

ThorZain beat MC ffs.
For me, he's no longer the underdog vs anyone. After this run, I think it's fair to rank him up there with the world's best terrans like MVP, MarineKing or SC2 NaDa.

I agree theres no way Thorzain is an underdog even against Naniwa.

The thing that's so difficult to comprehend is that ThorZain doesn't play at nearly the same level without proper preparation. Look for example at his games in The Gathering and the Rakaka tournament http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/The_Road_to_Korea

Possible that Thorzain is just one of those players that really benefits from the extra time between rounds? He hasn't really had as much success in tournaments as this result would indicate he would...but that might just be a result of how he prepares. The constant matchup and opponent changes of most tournaments may just not suit his style. Would be very interesting to see him in GSL or NASL after this at some point.
