May your wise choice be rewarded by the discovery of new heroes and diamonds in the rough. ThorZain is ours though, ALL OURS.
Pulling out the branding iron are you Waxangel? Hehehe.
I really liked IPL1 however I really think you guys should reconsider bringing in SEA people, I find it quite hilarious that this thread has EU people complaining about the lag they'll have to play with yet the people who have been used to the lag for over a year now (SEA people obviously) are excluded because of the lag. Oh well, up to you guys though I guess

400 people already signed up, among those a couple great Europeans (Socke, Dimaga, Strelok, Diestar etc). Very much looking forward to it.
I'm rooting for the one silver and two diamond players in this qualifier. :lol

• Player must be in a Master or Grand Master league on the North American, South American or European ladder to participate and LIVE in one of those regions. • All games must be played on the North American server for both the qualifier and the main event. • Account sharing is not allowed, players must own a North American account. • By signing up for the qualifiers, it is agreed that the player will be available on the following dates leading up to the main event of the tournament (in the event that the player is eligible):
I don't quite understand how silver and diamond players are allowed to participate in the qualifier =/

I wish I was masters =( just don't have enough time to play
Btw, not sure if this was intentional or not, but the finals for each open tourny is going to be bo7 and the finals for the main tournament is bo5??
Seems a little odd.

Yeah, I know haha. I see what is going on now. I was only thinking of the finals having a possibility of being a bo5 pending the winner of the winner bracket wins the matchup. Just making sure that that was the intent.
Great work with the IPL so far. It is awesome to see you guys using Cats as well. It was a pleasure working with him, JP, and Wolf at our event (Collegiate ESports Series Invitational).

I mean a player who finished top 16 in a all qual. tourneys is probably more deserving of qualifying than the one who just had a lucky draw and finished top 8 in one tourney. Unexpected outcomes as a result of being put in an 'easy' bracket will be a lot more frequent here methinks.
Then they will be easily defeated in the round of 32 right? Do you know who Bitbybitprime is?

It isn't a question of being good enough, it's a question of being able to play without serious lag / latency. Lag isn't the same for everyone, obviously, but Idra has been saying that Korea -> NA competitive games are meaningless, and Artosis was saying on his stream that he probably wouldn't try to participate in NASL season 2 if they don't change the current setup because of both lag and time difference.
I'm glad IPL is limiting it to NA / LA / EU for now and seeing how that goes. As a viewer, I find it hard to enjoy games where one player may or may not be handicapped. Hopefully that won't be an issue here.

ohh so awesome! knew they'd go for a second season; the first was really successful. So glad that IGN is getting behind eSports.

Good news everyone, I just got our prize pool approved!
Prize Pool breakdown: $50,000 total
1st - $15,000 2nd - $10,000 3rd - $6,000 4th - $4,000 5th/6th - $1300 7th/8th - $1000 9th-12th - $800 13th-16th - $600 17th-24th - $400 25th-32nd - $200
Basically, we want to still reward people for their time, so anyone who qualifies will receive at least $200 for their efforts, while still scaling up for some nice rewards for the top players!

Oh man that basically means each qualifier has a $200 Prize pool; and if they do well it gets exponentially larger.

Love the spread. Better than sharp payout drop-offs after the podium positions
