Kas "smacked" NaDa down 3-0. I don't think anyone would think that Thorzain (on equal connections) can do the same. His TvT isn't nearly as good.

I think most people haven't seen enough of Thorzain's TvT to be able to make that judgment.

It doesn't matter once you see Kas's TvT.

That annoys me as well. Give credit to TZ for busting out the mech at the right moment though

I'll give him credit but that still doesn't mean I don't think that game was disappointing to watch. I hate seeing games 1 sided battles like this in SC2 because unit composition is so important over micro skills at times.

Thorzain annihilated fruitdealer who is a person who contends with code S players

He destroyed Tyler and MC, not just because he had fancy timings, he just simply outplayed them.

Hard.

I'm sure thorzain will be giving kas a hard fight, especially since his micro is absolutely mindblowingly amazing and his decision making is incredible. With more TvT practice I can see thorzain being the best foreigner easily, hes already dethroned Jinro from being the best swedish Terran

Guy loses 3-2 in extremely hard fought back-and-forth series, is "clearly the better player". Love it!

Other than the strategic blunders, yes. How do you think it was a close series despite those blunders?

How can someone be "clearly the better player" if they make several strategic blunders?

OTHER THAN THEM. God, how many times do I need to rewrite that? His micro/macro etc were better. His builds, upgrade timing etc were not at all.

Sorry, I did miss that part. In that case it's kind of a poor way to put it, why not say that Thorzain had much better builds and upgrades while MC had better micro/macro? That seems less likely to draw fire from the internet and doesn't take away from Thorzain's ability as a player.

Sorry ^_^

Thorzain came up with great builds, I'm not taking anything from him. However I haven't found his mechanics notable (not bad, just not notable) so I don't know how he'll hold up once people adapt. In particular how will he do against people who upgrade early and don't respond badly to funky builds?

wait what? He had +2/+2 even under harassement and kept his macro going, isn't that good mechanic?

Uhm it's not really indicative of anything? It's not hard to get upgrades :/

Anyway I didn't say his mechanics were bad at all, I said not notable. Many players have similar solid mechanics. Not many have MC's mechanics.

I think Nightend's in that team too. It is quite unknown as far as teams go though.

Just judging from the games that I have seen, (Rakaka and a few others), not impressed. Kas, on the other hand, impressed me a lot in his NaDa series. Sure, NaDa played like crap, but Kas played beautiful games.

I'll happily eat my words if Thorzain can beat him straight up.

The big confrontation in game 5 was actually quite close, the thors that remained were all at low health with all the repair scv's dead. Yes, several of them lived through the battle, but it wasn't as 1-sided as several are indicating.

Those 2 storms that did so little to the vikings may well have been the difference.

That's fine if people were saying Kas TvT is amazing, but they are saying Thorzain's TvT is his weakest matchup. That could be the case but I doubt the majority of the people here have seen more than a handful of Thorzain's TvT against competent opponents.

MC sure had awesome mechanics, having 0 upgrades for half the games and apart from the tal'darim game he had subpar macro, and I'd like to see anyone under hard pressure still pump out scvs and upgrades which requires you to not queue a shitton of units but still have enough to defend, while microing his army to defend against said pressure

Mos def. I seriously thought Thorzain was gonna get rolled 3-1. I don't think I've ever been happier to be wrong. Even if Thorzain hadn't taken the serious, he would have made me an instant fan. Definitely gonna be looking for his replays and casts from now on.

I find it unbelievable people are saying Kas got this before it has even started, Thorzain went into these 3 series in TSL as absolute underdog and emerged victorious with brilliant builds and awesome mechanics. Sure Kas is more experienced and more tested (and i like him a lot), but I do think it can go either way.

Thorzain will enter prepared as usual and I bet that will be close series.

This is quite unfair for MC where he can only rely on his instinct against a terran with a good mechanics and some awesome timing builds with no other games to show this other than the tsl and a few other sources. Thorzain may be overrated for now as we haven't really seem him play live yet, we have yet to see Thorzain crack in pressure ^^. Other than that Thorzain with incredible mechanics quite impress I am.

What's unfair for MC?
He could've watched Thorzain vs Tyler where Thorzain used the exact same styles

Kas has like 6k ladder games without counting his custom games so I doubt he's not used to playing a lot..

That said I love Kas and he can play a lot better, it just seemed like MC was a bit disappointed with himself after his TSL performance and took out all stops to perform well in this LAN. I'm sad we didn't get to see his strong 6gate push in the last game vs Thorzain.
