Missed the games but am not suprised by the results (tho they are depressing). Not a single TL player in ro8 is a shame.

Thanks for getting the VODs up so quickly.

Just watched Thorzain vs Tyler...wow...almost felt uncomfortable watching him getting raped so hard. Macro mech style in g1 - love it.

It seems like MC basically has a much higher level of understanding of PvP than anyone else out there. The one game he lost in the GSTL just caught him off guard as he had never seen that warp prism build before, but now that he knows how to defend it again, I can't see anyone on the planet taking him down in a Bo3 or Bo5 PvP.

Also, quite disappointed in Tyler, was hoping he'd give a better showing after all the hype.

MC vs Sen finals, calling it right now.

If Team Liquid keeps losing games like this people are gonna call it rigged.

I wasn't too impressed by the games today.

The MC wins were very clean and quick wins albeit a little 'boring'. I wasn't expecting anything different to be honest, especially for PVP. Seems "Special Tactics" did not work.
The Thorzain's quick wins were mostly Tyler not playing to his full potential, I'm not saying that Thorzain wouldn't have got those wins if Tyler was in top form but perhaps they would have been longer and perhaps he couldn't frequently bank 1.3k unspent minerals without issue.

Hopefully the TvP between Adellscott and qxc will be better, both original and fun to watch players so I hope to see Jinro/Yonghwa style nukes, motherships, battlecruisers (and of course qxcs favourite - the reapers).

The TvT between Kas and NaDa is going to be interesting to watch too, possibly the greatest Terran outside of Korea against one of the greatest Terrans in Korea. I spent ages mulling over the liquibet (not that they haven't already been destroyed enough with the RO32).

I know this has been discussed to death, but what are the latency rules for Tyler vs Thorzain? US to EU. The Stalker control in Set 2 was just... bad and I think he missed with all the forcefields that attempted to catch hellions in Set 1.

Yeah seems like getting charge instead of blink would have made a huge difference.

Surprised to read that staff predictions/liquid bets were so much in favor of Tyler, you might have though people would realize by now that Thorzain ain't to be underestimated. The NA server/players are miles behind EU and Korea by now and I expect the skill gap to get even wider. We are 9 million people in Sweden yet we have more top Starcraft 2 players (or equal) compared to USA who has 300 million people.

Why do so many people make the players about an issue of race/continent. I guess it is understandable with Koreans since they have a culture that supports Esports and were clearly way ahead in BW... but I really don't understand why people compare NA with EU all the time and talk about it with so much pride.

It seems like people will take any chance to brag that the pro player they live closer to beat the pro player someone else lives closer to. Do some people really not care about the player themselves, but instead where they are from? I just don't see why you take so much pride in it, as you are clearly bragging by saying "oh wow we only have 9 million people and we have better players than your 300 million!!" when I personally feel people should be saying "I really enjoy Jinro as a player over SeleCT."

Don't get me wrong... I think a bit of national pride is perfectly fine and reasonable, but some people seem to be fixated on it. The same can be said about in game races. So many people always cheer for the same race that they play rather that the really fun/interesting personalities or great game play. I know not everyone seems to focus on nationality and in game race, but there seems to be quite a lot of people that do that. If a pro player lives in the same country as them and plays the same race as them... they can be a huge asshole, but will still have fans because of that fact. It's so strange to me... BTW WhiteRa is my favorite player and he's obviously not from the same country as me, in case any one is curious.

I'm also not looking to start a flame war... people are entitled to have their opinions on players for whatever reason, but I just feel my reason makes more sense... but again, that is just my opinion. It just bothers me a bit when people try to talk down on others simply because they live in a closer vicinity to a good starcraft player....

I guess Starcraft is a bit a a consolation for some of the Europeans since the US dominates so hard in other sports? IDK but there is a ton of US hate flying around these forums. EU ladder is definitely a bit more competitive than NA ladder but if you watch the TL streams of any of the NA pros you'll see that a lot of them have top masters accounts on EU as well. As for Sweden, it has always been a major gaming community through many different games and you can't make fair comparisons between it and the US. Alot of the NA top players are college kids with tons of other obligations and interests where as in Sweden most of them are hardened gaming pros. If you want to compare Sweden to the US in ANY other sport I'm sure youd find a huge disparity but its no reason to blurt out
"US > SWEDE LOLZ" because there are probably good social reasons why it is so.

I don't think there's anything wrong, or strange, about cheering for people from your country, or people who play your race, but bringing up population figures is just silly. I'm embarrassed on his behalf.

The only way Nony could have played more cautiously in games 1 and 3 would be to build cannons at his ramp. And every game he put himself behind despite no early pressure possible from Thorzain. Eco poor every game.

Just finished watching the vod's and I gotta say I absolutely love how thorzain plays. Especially that first game, it was my favorite love the thors. I do kind of wish that tyler advanced to play mc since he said he doesn't think mc is good which is pretty funny.

As for the PvP series that is easily the most boring/not exciting matchup in all of SC2. Not very enjoyable to watch. (the PvP is boring not the players).

Edit: the intro was also so badass

Why do people constantly put words in tylers mouth?! He never said, that he thinks MC isn't good. He simply said he didn´t like his style, because it is risky at times and depends heavily on timing pushes. Tyler even said quite a few times, that MC is probably the best Toss in the world at the moment. Not liking his style is not saying "he isn´t good".
