Except WhiteRa confirmed that his 4gate comment against San was sarcastic in an interview. Why should his 4gate comment against MC be any different?

Tyler's fine, its just a slump, people overreact over a two week period. Problem is Tyler's been in a slump since the beta started.. dunno people says it's because he WOWs too much... I think it's just because there is a lot more competition in SC2 as opposed to SC1. In other words, overrated.. he's still a fine fellow though, very likable guy.
What? SC2 has more competition than SC1?
SC2 is still a game of luck in most cases, nothing compared to SC1.

I feel silly for betting on Tyler. After his results at MLG I should've known better. Don't know how much he's been practicing but it feels like he's behind in 2011.

Well i don't exactly agree that the games today were boring. Except for the PvP of course, which was expected to be boring.
I loved Thorzain's play vs Tyler. Gotta give him some credit, even though Tyler really didn't play extraordinary well.

All that hype about this being Tylers tournament, ye right.

SC2 is still volatile and growing. SC1 was a 10+ year span and still going.

SC2 tournaments have way more prize money than SC1 tournaments ever did. Fact. And seriously? Luck? Take your baseless hate and BW elitism somewhere else.

okay to sum up this LR thread
Tyler sucks and is overhyped
White-ra is super BM
WC3 players are better than BW

Sorry, I was referring to the foreign scene in SC1. Of course SC1 requires more mechanics than SC2, but the foreign scene in SC2 is just much larger with as many as 10 to 100 times the number of players SC1 had in the later years.. thus there is more competition.

Right now SC2 has more money being pumped into it (outside of Korea) than SC1 had in it's entire lifespan. With that much money more people want a piece of the pie and the competition has sky rocketed. The game is more volatile at the moment from patch to patch and week to week as new things are discovered all the time and it'll continue that way till Blizzard decides to stop the patches.
Nothing to do with luck, all to do with a constantly evolving game.

I'm shocked at Nony's performance, however, especially given the fact that he plays P, and PvT is a good match-up for him (see his previous games against Strelok).
As for those saying Thorzain has any chance against MC - sure he does, but MC after his poor performance in the FXOpen has tweeted that he's taking foreigners much more seriously, so I doubt there will be an element of surprise anymore. Those who think otherwise are misinformed. whaaat?? seeing that white-ra managed to win a game in the teamleague in korea, I had hope he could at least win some maps or even win but it was pretty much obvious that thorzain could defeat tyler easily. his win vs MC was 100% incidental.

I'm not surprise how frustrated White-ra is, He had so many PVPs (GSL then this TSL) and lost to 4 gates.

how do you figure? I think luck has very little to do with it, especially at this level of play.

The best players like MC, MVP and Nestea don't have lower win % than the really good BW pros did. MC has higher win % in PvP than Jaedong does in ZvZ. Less games played, sure, but still. Don't try to pull that crap.

If you judge by offline results, SjoW is still the best. If you include online results, it's undoubtedly Kas. Goody is pretty overrated, and Thorzain has to prove a bit more than just beating two guys who were in terrible game shape and played like garbage - Thor played well, don't get me wrong, but let's not act like he's suddenly a Top 10 player in the world (responding to the previous guy). Let's see how he does against MC. I thought Thorzain was going to the Copenhagen games, but I guess not.

I don't think White-Ra actually practices the "traditional" 4-gate. You know, the one with a zealot and 6 stalkers @5:45.
|
I'm sorry guys, as much as I love White-Ra, if you can't hold a 4 gate, you can't really say you're the best in the world. I know it brings a lot of tears to you guys, but it is nothing but the truth. Someone who is truly the best, will be able to hold off all types of cheese and still come out on top.

of course, it was like MC accidentally writing GG at the beginning and leaving the game
seriously, he earned his win against MC in the teamleague, far from 100% incidental
