I didn't take lag into account so the only match I got right was Ret vs Naniwa(despite Ret being the better player , Naniwa is quite good and it's PVZ), today we had some pretty low-level matches overall and I think it has to do with lag taking a huge whole, as imo if Adelscott/Goody/QXC were to ever go to korea I would bet they wouldn't manage to even get into code A.

Ret did not convince me .. to be real: keeping a good macro is not rocket science, everybody can train and learn that, that's not strategy. When to macro, when to tech and when to attack, controlling space + fight micro make up the difference, ret did fail pretty much in these areas. I think pure macro play for Z is not the way to go. Additionally i'd have expected Ret to take advantage of the infestor buff.

Can someone give me quick answer, please? Was todays games on 1.2 or 1.3 patch? I thought they were played on 1.2 but friend says 1.3.

probably 1.3 since they hosted the rep via multiplayer I believe O_O

It was 1.3 according to the casters at the start of the stream.

At least the first serie was on 1.3. They didn't mentioned it for the other games as far as I know.

Yes, they mentioned at the start that all the games casted today would be on patch 1.3.

I guess I misheard then. I do know they commented specifically about the first series though I wasn't paying attention 100% of the time. I guess the easiest way to know exactly what they said is to wait for the vods.

This complaint about lag is going to go on endlessly until all the Koreans are out of the tournament. Reminds me of the the non-stop complaints about forcefields being OP.

I went with the "safe" choices after picking some of the risky ones right last weekend. Great games today. Probably one of the best bunch in one day. Looking forward to the matches tomorrow and state of the game on Tuesday (Wednesday Aussie time) for follow ups on the matches.

Sure he dosnt have perfect macro, but his decision making is absolutely excellent. You think the low tier amateur just had luck this last week when he got teamliquid "tournament king" achievement?!

This was just another impressive performance by Goody.

Goody made bad decisions in his series, Nestea just made worse ones. His macro is not just "not perfect", it's atrocious.

Yea I don't think people understand how bad goody's mechanics are but hey, w/e he's doing its obviously working for him.

You are somehow proud you called goody vs nestea, fluke of the century. Go watch some of Goody's matches on gosugamers, and then come back and seriously tell me he is at half the level nestea is.

What? How is he proud for one, and two, whaaaaaat? I also "called" GoOdy over NesTea because I'm smart

No that is called luck, Goody would lose first round in Code A 9 out of 10 times.

You seriously underestimate him. As most of his opponents do if they have never played him before.

I've watched many of his games on gosugamers, I thought he was a low tier amateur then, and I still think he is now. You say under estimated, I say many people watch his games and realize hes bad. I agree with that majority.

You are wrong. Goody has many flaws in his game, but he still defeats players who macro perfectly. No one cares if you think that someone is bad, if the one is winning tournaments left and right and defeating all top players (especially in TvT). I would bet on Goody in every TvT in the GSL, because you can't drop him and you can't play with mass marines against him and that's what all Koreans are doing right now. He also showed that he can take down the best Zerg players.

Goody. Beating "all top players". in GSL. Look at this statistically, he has accomplished next to nothing before this tournament. He has yet to prove that he's not just some outlying statistic. Quick to jump on the bandwagon much.

His timing to make units was perfect - maybe 15 seconds earlier would be better. The big thing was, he made the wrong units. I think a similiar style to what he did in game 1 would be a lot better if it was zergling/baneling with banelings drops.

A one trick pony who is top 4 in like 50% of European weekly tournaments and has (arguably) the best TvT in Europe.

Haters gonna hate.

The fact that he can win with good strategies and decisionmaking even tho his mechanics are horrible just makes him such a great player and I love watching him for ingenious moves like in game 3.

What ingenious move? He sat next to Nestea's natural and watched Nestea suicide roaches and lings into tank lines.....

A lot game I watch with goody he makes people make poor decisions because he's so unorthodox. It's weird.

How often does being super greedy actually work out for zergs against good opponents? How should I have predicted this?" *dies*

Yea. Especially Nestea, he gets hyped so much as the best zerg but honestly half his games lately he loses to a 1 or 2 base early push cause he doesnt make spincrawlers or an army like he just expects his opponent not to attack him. I've seen zergs who play safely and can still macro well enough to keep up or pull ahead so I dont get why some of these zergs act like they need to play so greedy.

Zerg players need to take a page from the GSL...the key to big maps is not to macro like crazy but to pressure fast expands. A fast expanding protoss is sooo vulnerable to a baneling bust and fast expanding significantly slows down toss tech. If toss doesn't fast expand on these macro maps, then go 2 base muta and win the game. Not possible for 1 base toss to produce enough stalkers to defense 2 base muta...

On paper yes, zerg seem to have an advantage expanding like crazy on big maps because of how easy they can produce drones, but the 200 supply cap really crimps the zerg army and forces them to either bank resources or over invest in upgrades.

Be interesting to see how Idra varies his zerg vs toss style compared to the other zerg players. Unlike other zergs, Idra KNOWS the power of hydras vs pretty much everything toss has except colossi. And if toss goes mass colossi, they are very vulnerable to mass corrupters or broodlords, and have difficultly affording the +2 upgrades, stargates, blink/charge/dts, mass stalkers... Zerg (despite their complaints) wants to see mass colossi/stalker because it is so cost ineffective and very difficult for toss to tech switch out of.

He's basically the top foreign player right now in terms of tournament performance. Results speak much louder than anything else you can come up with so I would refrain from brushing him off so easily.

hmmm. im new her. but is this lag or noob maybe bad. we can watch who is better from results. in IEM 3 koreans topped. BUT they were not good players in korea just like moon, squirtle, ace. Just watch their game from code a. but they destroyed the foreigners. and look at the korean pros vods. they are playing games with no laggs. only on their korean ladders or some. from that you can imagin they playing on 1.5s lagg. this is huge disadvantage. hmmmmmm we can make sure who is better, only from gomtv world championship. you can see who is better from that. just wait. and todays games. you can be happy. because this is your one in million chance for you to be happy. dont miss it because koreans will win tsl. or maybe not ^^. BUT ASIA WILL always own in STARCRAFT2. just like brood war.sorry for my bad english. its not sucks like you guys sucks like in sc2 fo sure
