No ticket btw. Check SC2rep.com, they upload korean vods to youku.
Anyway, being down to 1 single zerg doesn't make me feel good. Anypro is still a noob in my eyes but kyrix is hardly a class. But, I'll nerdrage if he wins. Other than that, good to see tester leave. I want either check or lyn win.

genuinely see lyn getting to the final with this weak side of the bracket! that would be amusing

This allows at least 2-3 queens defending at all times with creep spread from main to natural to prevent against any early air play.
Also it is not safe on most maps to have 3 bases running in the early-mid game. Zerg runs pretty fine on 2 base with 3 hatches, there really is no need to get a third expo when you can just heavily saturate 2 bases like what protoss does.
July places an in-base macro hatch because he is going all-in. But you're right, I don't think Z can actually win a macro game right now unless they are noticeably superior than their opponent. Not with the way Zerg units are designed, and not with Z's tier-3 options being completely useless against air (in fact, Zerg's anti-air is a general weakness of the race in general, not just at tier 3).

Hatch in-base doesn't necessarily mean all-in. He could have droned up super hard with 3 hatch and 3 queens then have a superior economy to make a third with enough units to easily defend. The possibility of 3 (or dare I say 4) queens defending your one choke point means that transfusion can actually be a game-changer against mid game timings.
I just don't see the current strategies being viable in the near future. I hope in the next few GSL's we will see more in-base hatches. Just my speculation...

A macro hatch is common anyway when zerg hits a fully saturated 2 base, especially if you are planning to end the game on 2 base. If not, you should be taking a third instead of trying to produce more off 2 base.
Almost every game July has won has been on lair tech.... and eventually he will hit someone who knows how to stop zerg lair tech units easily.

July has a good chance against Nada I think. Its disappointing for me to see either go in the upcoming match. Less protoss = More entertaining games.

Lol I am so too late for this. Not seen a single game. But seems I have not missed much judging from the recommended games.

I think I'm gonna predict San v MC finals and MC wins. Unless MC loses to july or nada, then I could see San taking the tournament. I just can't imagine MC losing to another protoss.

so MC/July/NaDa is on the same side of the bracket ? I thought MC & july should be on two separate sides since they were in the same group ?

What the hell, its a total liquisaster again! What is happening i dont understand.

they are not,MC won't meet NaDa or July until the finals.

tbh we just have to wait for the metagame to evolve again and i bet Z will be back in the balance...I mean T is pretty balanced now, even though for a couple months they were pretty op. Esp with the possible change to infestors (30%+ fungalgrowth dmg vsarmored?). As a protoss, i can see this owning deathballs pretty hard. I feel that there isnt enough infestor play for Z in general, its such a great unit, really fragile, but great if it can be used effectively. Id like to see earlier T3 play for Z as well; throwing in 2-3 ultras and infestors with the roach corruptor mix can deal alot of damage.
Sorry for the theorycraft, but ive just been thinking of different ways zerg can change their unitcomp/playstyle so that they will stop losing so easily. Not a zerg player, so im not sure how hard these unit mixes are on your economy, etc. But ive seen many times zerg bank up 3k minerals to replenish on just roaches after sniping all the collosus and end up losing anyway...as a P player, i always imagined it would be more effective to use that extra resource to tech up and replenish with more cost-effective units, changing extra corruptor into brood lords+ultras+infestor+roach

Don't be so sure. After San demonstrates an incredible strategy that totally negates 4gate creating a revolution in PvP in a metalopolis close spawn position game that will last forty minutes and include unseen strategies you'll be eating your own words.

this finally looks like a gsl again! 1 zerg in ro8 ... go and win this shit july. the stars are aligned.
