Nestea and MC can also be considered "first-generation" considering they were around in the first GSL as well. Also, SanZenith. I don't see them failing. Sure, Nestea got taken out early, but that doesn't mean anything. FD is a a great player who's had some poor showings in the last 2 GSLs, but he's innovative and I'm sure we haven't seen the last of him. Statements like these make them sound like they're getting completely destroyed in their games and make platinum-level mistakes all the time. I meant the first generation of SC2 beta players more than "GSL players". Fruit, Tester, Rainbow, and others all have had great showings but the comparably newer players are just consistently beating them. When I say they're past their prime I'm saying they're losing to better players. It happened consistently in BW and it will happen in SC2 as well. The old guard is changing.

NesTea and MC weren't big names untill later and San was a nobody till last week. They weren't really the first generation players. The early top players, such as FD, RainBOw, So Ki Soo, Maka etc. have all fallen and are decent at best today.

He was beat by MVP in last season 3-0 and Rainbow in GSL 1. He failed to qualify for 2 and 3 yes. Round of 16 this time - say what you want about the quality of his opponent but those are deep rounds. I mean, look at Idra, a great player - a top 3 Zerg (arguably?) and his GSL runs are no more impressive. There are tons of good players who don't win, it's a tournament.

Actually first generation probably refer to Beta stage players. I'm pretty sure both Nestea and MC started significantly later than FD, Tester, and possibly Rainbow as they were still on BW teams during that time.

That was not even close to the worst series in the GSL so far. TesteR is not "B team material" or a "fucking terrible player". sC isn't too great either, but both of these players are easily as good if not better than the players who played in the series before them. Good games are not indicative of the skill level of the players. A group of these first four players is going to be won by the two latter players the majority of the time.

That and Fruitdealer always talks about how he never practices lol. If you look at the people who beat all the tier 1 pros, they were all fairly good players, so you have to look at more than just the round they went out on.

Trickster is timid and coward when facing T (as well as nonsense build), and when facing Z he always goes for possible cannon openings. It's a shame that he could even stay in code S thanks to the retard Bo1 group stage.

If you admit that a Pro-Gamer lost because he wasn't good enough, you have to admit that you lose because they aren't good enough. People just want to make excuses for themselves and/or their favorite players, so everyone says their race is UP at Every. Single. Opportunity.

I thought they explained it already: they couldn't/didn't want to handle the harsh training regimens of oGs. It's all about training, people. The teams that run a tight ship according to how teams trained in BW are doing well and the teams that play casually aren't.

Better players appeared, which makes them seem weak. Also from what I've heard FD doesn't practice that much.
