Hehe even the Koreans favour Jinro in their poll.

Yeah, I know the TLPD still automatically links BW profiles but I'm way too lazy to go back and modify them now. I'll pay more attention to it in future LRs.

You realize you'll have to update the original post at least eight times (or four if you don't feel like updating real-time) tonight, right? You might as well do it now, or after the first game.

I'm well aware of my responsibilities as the OP andrea. I just didn't think it would bother people so much when they could just look up the SC2 TLPD database themselves. I'll get on it.

He's earnt it. The Koreans recognise that Jinro's a top-quality Terran. Normally I would expect the PlayXP poll to be even more in his favour, but HongUn's a tough opponent.

Pretty much everybody recognizes how good Jinro is. Sure there are the vocal minority who make it seem like we are better than any foreign players.. but for the most part we recognize good players when we see them. Jinro has lots of Korean fans

My thoughts:

MC 2:0 Byun
MC is really lucky he's got Jinro as a practice partner since they both have the same matchup. Byun is the player who plays closest to the style that Jinro plays in the whole tournament: big, turtley, late game macro. I think MC shouldn't have a problem wiping the floor with Byun and should be able to exploit his early game weaknesses accordingly.

Jinro 2:1 Hongun
I can't believe forty percent of the vote is for a Jinro 2-0. I think Jinro will take it, but but I wouldn't count out Hongun so easily. I think Hongun is better than Choya and Jinro had some trouble with Choya, and Jinro has said he's scared of a TvP. Unfortunately for Jinro, I don't think he'll get quite the benefit that MC does from practicing together, MC and Hongun are opposite ends of the Protoss spectrum. Hongun's got relatively average standard play with mediocre micro and relies on solid but creative builds and generally crazy play. I think Hongun could easily steal a game off of Jinro (or two!)

July 1:2 Clide
If Clide does any kind of preperation I think he should handily 2:0 July. July's standard play has ranged from really bad to fantastic, but has averaged closer to the former. I don't know if it's just July's playstyle or if it's his issues with the Zerg as a race, but he's been relying on rushes and all-ins much more lately. Though July stomped out Virus and August in the iCCup tournament with ease he had played pretty poorly against a competent Terran in the finals. I still get nightmares from Clide's season 2 early departure from the disappointingly weak Tank Boy and still sometimes wake up in a cold sweat screaming "just build a goddamn turret!" But when Clide has his good days he is absolutely dominant and I think he could roll this, but more likely July will take one game.

Check 0:2 Nada
Though Nada hasn't shown any sort of stellar play, Check has proven despite his four thousand or so ladder games he's made little in the way of improvement since beta, where he was once the third strongest Zerg only behind Cool and Idra. His play, while creative and aggressive, is more relient on his opponent making mistakes rather than him building his own lead, and has also shown (with his sole GSTL match) that his late-late ZvT is astoundingly poor. With these issues in mind, against Nada I think that will bite him in the ass. Though Nada isn't flawless (sending his fleet of unsieged tanks through tall grass straight into the marine-marauder ball of Marine King without scouting ahead first) he is certainly more solid than many other Code S players and I don't think Check can count on Nada misplacing a building at an important choke to win games against him.
