around 75 drones, 6 queens = 87 supply, add on the 4 morphing brood lords = 103 supply in NON-ATTACKING UNITS
4 infestors, ~25 mutas and around 90 zerglings was ret's entire army. 0 banelings.
Terran on the other hand had somewhere around 50-60 scvs, and 140-150 supply in attacking units.
Do the math people, ret just didn't have enough, OR the right kind of units to deal with that.
Curse of the NA macrozerg I guess.

Ret played well. MMA played better. Its as simple as that.

Ret suicided all his Mutas to kill one tank, wasn't watching his infestors, and had to fight that army with a million billion speedlings, which is atrocious composition. Half his speedlings were completely across the map, too.
It sucked that the game turned around so fast, but Ret just didn't handle the push at all.

Simple answer right now:
Terran & Protoss mid-game to late-game strategies scale into these big maps. Zerg mid-game doesn't and will have to be rebuilt. Zergs will need to develop a new strategy, though a lot of it will need to come from Heart of the Swarm. Or you go Kyrix-style. I think July knew what he was doing to MVP.

ALOT of people play terran though so how many are in the top8 doesnt really matter. we've already seen many even matches between top zerg and terran players..
