They don't offer that anymore, it was only for the first three seasons. I believe MVP only got around ~$44,000 for his GSL championship win.

I can understand why you have the credibility and reasons to post this but I for one appreciate the fan participation. Plus they don't actually say it's going to be 100% from the fan vote.
You could always get/use twitter and ask your fans to vote.

400k is a lot of money but... iNcontrol as main caster, matches played online (pre-recorded?), not on TV like some people thought
I still think GSL's where it's at. I'd rather pay for that than an online league where most the people could never qualify for Code-A

Also, why am I getting the distinct impression that only the "Grand Finals" will be held in a live studio setting? because flying 50 guys in for a month is a tad unreasonable don't you think
Exactly. Doing the whole thing offline commits all the players to taking that whole month out in california. A la korea & GSL.
To ensure you get the top players and they all want to compete this is the best way. Will have good build up etc.
Yeah, hyped for this NASL actually.

was the match played live or online? i didnt get to catch it on stream and dont really wanna go through the pages :/

Guy just mouths off yet doesn't do anything decent himself considering he has been in korea now for what seems like forever... Be more clueless. Seriously. Being known as one of the top 3 (worst case scenario, 4?) zerg players in the world clearly means he's not decent. Clearly he's got no skills. Edit: Also, by insulting IdrA you're merely diminishing Jinro's accomplishments as well. If he's so bad, Jinro should've completely ran over him without a sweat. Don't be ignorant. Maybe im saying Idra should step back and take a look at how good some of these guys actually are before attacking them himself. I'm not saying Idra is bad, im saying Jinro is that good. Everyone else is sayign Idra is the shiz
Find one comment IdrA has ever used to attack Jinro or say he wasn't one of the top terrans? IdrA has said repeatedly how good he feels Jinro is.
He has insulted many players he feels are of lesser quality, but that doesn't include Jinro BECAUSE he doesn't feel he is a lesser opponent.

But only in the regular GSL code S tournaments, add team league, blizzard cup, and like 3 more different competitions several times a year, and you have an insane prize pool, it's something like 4 times as much as NASL. Not saying this as a bad thing for NASL, it's actually a huge prize pool, but people should try to stop comparing GSL and NASL, they are long ways apart, although I have high hopes for NASL.

30% taxes in the US on any winnings though, and unlike in poker I doubt canadians will be able to recover that

Great games, congrats Jinro!
Really excited about the NASL stuff, but the anouncement it self was kinda meh. And the stream tonight was just aweful imo, horribly desynced etc.
Can't wait for a daily dose of incontrol tho :D

Huh? They had 3 tourneys last year for the 87k top prize, this was to attract players and start the fan base. From now on the top prize will always be 50k, and they said 7 of these tournaments will be held this year. Not sure where you got any of that info, or maybe the info I am reading over and over is wrong.

I guess noone complains about the magnitude of the announcement, but the way it has been conveyed. After 3 months of hype, it could have used a little more than a totally uncommented 10 second video containing almost no information.
Don't get me wrong, I think this might be the biggest thing in E-Sports history, especially because it takes away so much from Korea as THE focus point of SC, but the announcement didn't do it content justice.
That being said, I'm hoping that the myth of the inferiour Caucasian play is going to be dispelled after a time passes.
Go whites!

If you're referring to the last question, Jinro is an amazingly nice guy and dodges the "best foreigner" question every time, but when you're rolling over somebody 8-3 in high profile and high money games, it's not "close".
He's a class above Idra at the moment. The very last game of the showmatch showed it better than any other.

Keep in mind that the ticket for premium for NASL will be for 3 or 4 months of content not 3 weeks. Also, you seem to be equating Korean Starcraft with the best starcraft which isn't true. There are some great players from NA and EU. Further, with a real league there will be increased competition and hopefully raise the skill of NA as a whole.
And if you expect this to be on TV instantly in NA then you are expecting way too much way too fast.

Luckly clicking a few times on computer isn't so hard, but if this was considered the Grand Opening of a new store, I wouldn't be going back.

You do realize part of the reason that the skill level is higher in Korea is because it's taken more seriously historical and has better sponsors...? If you want the same for the western world then you need to support it so it can eventually reach that point. Not supporting it is completely idiotic and would only hurt the growth of western esports.
